"Amazing lectures" "Big time extra credit" "Hilarious"

The class seemed tough at first but once you get it down it's pretty easy. A lot of extra credit offered. Lectures were interesting.

I never received any help from the professor. He basically said sorry I can't help you. The grades were really harsh as far as trying to get a ton of work done and being a couple minutes late. I would only take this class from him if you have to and don't have a lot of other high course load classes to take from other teachers.

I loved this class! I've never retained so much information from a class in the 2 years I've gone to college. The way the class lectures, materials, and assignments line up make it easy to engage.

"Assignments galore"

Requires you to watch lots of long full length movies and then will have test questions on one tiny thing that was briefly mentioned in the movie.

Jacob Armstrong is by far one of the best instructors I've ever had. The course was not easy, but the way it is setup really allows students to excel and learn. I firmly believe it was this difference that gave me a better understanding of Sociology in the long run. I wish all of my instructors were as enthusiastic and passionate as Jacob.

Absolutely loved this class! The way it was set up made it easy to know what I had to get done each week. The prezi lectures also had videos that made it easier to understand things we were reading about.

This class really exceeded my expectations! I really enjoyed opening my eyes to learning to think more like a sociologist rather than just an observer. Mr. Armstrong brought up different ideas I never thought of, and that's what's most important in learning!

Would NOT recommend taking this course in the summer; LOTS of work each week and I had nothing but issues with the required download component. Professor was somewhat helpful, returned emails quick.

Great teacher, he is passionate about his class which made me love it more. And to top it off he is hilarious! Easy book work, loved the videos he had for us to watch. If he taught more classes I'd take all of them

Pretty fun class. You DO have to read the book though. Lots of videos that explain the ideas in the book. Exams were done online too.

I went into this class with little to no understanding of what Sociology is. I'm coming out considering majoring in Sociology. I'm very glad this course was offered. It is an important subject to study. The material was very informative, and the information I was given in this course has and will continue to be useful throughout my every day life.

He seems to be a quite the liberal, he tries to be a comedian more than teach the class. He will not help you if you have a problem nor will he give you an explanatory email. Do not take this class unless you are independent and love doing lots of work.

SOC-101 007 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: A+

He is clear with what you need to know and explains it so you remember it. He also gives lots of extra credit so you can drop a couple of assignments if you need to focus on another class. Do you reading outlines and you will be ready for tests. Be careful and have facts if you are religious. The book and the teacher are anti-religious values.

He is a great professor, wasn't sure how he was going to be in the first two weeks since he appeared to be kinda strict and tough, but after the first few weeks he opens up. If you do your reading outlines you can easily pass.

One of the least effective teachers I've had. Doesn't know how to get the class engaged. That could be because he is condescending. Didn't enjoy this class; Usually left feeling a bit angry. Text book is very far to the left. I can't say I trust what I've learned to be completely accurate, but the class did get me thinking & questioning more.
