People mainly don't like her if they don't like talking about diversity issues (which is the point of her class!) She's intense and seems intimidating but is much nicer and more supportive than people realize. Be respectful and she'll like you. Has no time for nonsense. She's not tech savvy but can still teach you a lot. A highly intelligent woman. |

GRADED BY FEW THINGS
Only 2 article analyses, midterm, and final paper are in the gradebook. Participation is too so don't skip. Not hard grader but lecture is hard to get through. Very liberal. Midterm is difficult, but she gives a full study guide that once studied, is not that bad. Final paper is not very hard either. |

LECTURE HEAVY
Show up and you will pass. Just be prepared for her immense list of trigger warnings. Everything that can be perceived as disagreeing with her opinion will result in public shaming and potential punishment. Just keep your mouth shut, and you will do fine. You will learn almost nothing of value, just regurgitation. |

Garza is a sweet woman and I am extremely thankful to have had her as a professor both Freshman and Senior year. She is easy to talk to in my opinion and I learned a lot and enjoyed the projects we did in her Business Journalism course. You can tell she has a passion for it the class. Also I made troll comments on the WSJ articles and she loved it. |

I love Garza! Our class was relatively small so we got to know her well and she got to know us. She's intimidating at first, but is actually really cool. You learn a lot from class and test are really fair if you have paid attention to anything. I plan on taking her other classes! |

If you want an easy-A, just show up and do the work. If you may even potentially be perceived as disagreeing with her or possessing a slightly differing opinion, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! Honestly, I never spoke up and got an A. This professor has an awful reputation around dissenters to her opinion; do not trigger her and you will ace the course. |

Dr. Garza is super liberal -loves minorities & women. She comes off really strong and many students don't particulary like that about her. She's willing to work with students, but she is super picky in what she wants to hear in papers/analysis (especially grammar). Her courses are easier than others. |

I have some issues with Garza (some notes on papers were ridiculous), but she's a very nice teacher, and she really cares about you as a person. She does have issues with technology and can be disorganized. She's passionate about advocacy, and feminism/immigration are some examples. Don't judge, though, or you'll miss the point. |

LOTS OF HOMEWORK

Took this class partly as a filler and that it fulfilled an ethics class requirement. Worthless teacher unless you want to live and breath feminism. But I knew that going in and played the part expected of me. I barely put any effort into the class but regurgitated what she said and got an A out of the class. Check the block, one more year left |

I found the classes to be very disorganized and confusing to follow. I thought that blogging once a week for homework wasn't very helpful or insightful. I really didn't learn a lot from this class or this professor. All in all it was dull, dry, and entirely pointless. |

Interesting material. Boring lectures that are repetitive but she posts the slide shows online. Tests are tough but if you study you are golden. Would recommend this class.

They just revamped the course this year, there definitely isn't enough material to last for a whole semester. We had many quest speakers to just fill up time. Only grades are blog posts, mid-term, and final. Topics are super easy, but she is all over the place and extremely frustrating. She usually lets you out of class early. |

Prof. Garza is a really nice person. As long as you blog every other week, and come to class, you will be fine. She supplies study guides for the tests, so they are really easy. The majority of your grade comes from the blog posts though. This class is only 1 hour, once a week--not bad at all.

This class is so easy ( I got a 100 on the midterm), all you have to do is a blog post every other week and come to class to sign in. She gives you a study guide with basically all of the questions on it. However, this class is boring and confusing during class time. |
