I could not understand a word this guy said. He would mumble on and on about something, usually a proof or an example, but half way through would say he did it wrong, then spend the rest of class trying to figure out why. He gave a quiz at the end of each class, which he would give you the answer to if the class gave him blank stares.

I've learned extremely little during lectures, I attend every single one and attempt to take notes. I've found that an hour of studying from the course book is worth more than an entire semester of lectures. This course was a struggle and nothing else, at least the professor is generous with this grading. myHighschoolteachers teach better than him.

Plain and simple, a bad professor. Mutters inaudibly and scribbles illegibly only about proofs. Don't take him.

Murmurs the whole time, basically only does proofs, and likes to cut off quiz times

Not the easiest professor. You have to learn on your own and the book is horrible explaining concepts. Very helpful in his office. Exams are based off problems from the book. You wont learn anything from the lectures. He gives the answer for daily quizzes. Everyone got a 10 on the quizzes.

Prof Halpern is a very nice person, but is almost impossible to follow as a teacher. He scribbles things on the board and mumbles, but often gives you the answer to the daily quiz. Grading is ridiculously generous and you can except about a letter grade higher than any other teacher.

Very bad professor (the worst of my college career), doesn't explain concepts (got NOTHING from lectures), doesn't respond to email, test questions are often over material that wasn't covered, pre-exam reviews cover material not previously discussed. Sometimes very disorganized and his grading is inconsistent.

If you had to take any differential equations class, this one is recommended. It is mandatory to learn on your own but he is an extremely easy grader. You will have quizzes everyday straight from the homework He will answer any question you have on the homework, but he is very difficult to understand. So your best bet is to learn on your own.

The only good thing that can be said about this guy is he's an extremely easy grader. The lectures are completely useless, and you will learn nothing from his class. He will put you to sleep faster than elephant tranquilizer. You will want to die. On the upside, if you put as much effort into the class as he does (none) you will still get an A.

Cant understand a single thing he is talking about regarding Mathematica. His class is extremely easy because he just makes sure you did the homework, but I did not learn Mathematica from him. If you want to actually learn Mathematica, dont take him. However if you want an extremely easy "pass" hes good for that. He's not helpful personally either.

I liked him. He is not strict on grading. He is always in his office and willing to help. He will not force the material down your throat, so if you need a deep understanding then read the book and ask questions. This Harvard scholar may not act it, but he is a genius.

Although attendance is not mandatory, he has a one question quiz everyday that you can miss a couple of. He mumbles to the board A LOT and it is hard to understand what he is saying unless you have already had Calculus. Apparently he is a good prof for Calc Lab though, idk i have not had it yet.

Professor Halpern is an extremely nice man. He is always in his office and willing to answer any questions you have regarding the material. He teaches the material very well and has many interesting stories regarding math. Take him!

Great teacher, just listen to what he says and read the handouts, even if they are hard to follow and you will get a good grade. He usually gives the answers to the quizzes if you just pay attention to him.
