POS 3182
Great professor, really cares about his students, attendance is not mandatory, but is worth extra credit on tests. gives you all the notes and basically the questions that will be on the test. Easy grader, take him if you can!
POS 2041H
Even though I do not have much interest in politics, I enjoyed this class. There are 3 tests which are fairly easy and are based on his notes. There are also discussions every class about the assigned reading. The only downside to this course was that there are five papers, which are a lot of work. However,an A is definitely achievable.
POS 3182
Read and print out the notes he gives you. that's what will be on the test. The books can be found online so don't buy them. must go to class in order to pass plus if you go he will give hints on what to study as well as give extra credit for being there. When going over the different counties take notes its also on the test. 2 papers really easy
POS3182
Not a fan of his teaching style at all. The way he grades papers, he always manages to find something "wrong" with what you wrote. He is one of the nicest guys, but a terrible professor! He is willing and eager to answer your questions. Overall, if you're looking for an easy class, this is not it. I got a B in the class, but has to work my butt off
POS3182
Great professor, 3 tests, 2 papers, a current event, attendance and class participation is all easy. You can get C's and D's on the tests and still get a B in the class. YOU MUST STUDY EVEN A LITTLE, do the papers and attend class and you should not have a problem passing the class if not get a B or even an A. Dont procratinate on the papers!
POS0000
His tests are tough and very broad, he doesn't let you know what to study but asks you exact questions that you would only know if you memorized them. Unfair grader, boring lecturer, he literally reads off his notes to the class. Really, really nice guy, but not a good professor! Would not recommend him to people :(
pos3182
3 tests and they are difficult, class notes are not very clear. He can be rude at times and talk to you like your beneath him. Do not recommend, not worth it.
POS3182
So incredibly boring, and a tough grader when it comes to the papers. I had him for a morning class and could barely keep my eyes open. He expects a lot of work out of you and acts like you don't have any other classes to work on but his. Nice guy, terrible professor. I have no idea why people like him so much. Wouldn't take him again.
POS3182
TAKE HIM! He expects you to put forth work but gives you very detailed guidelines about what he expects. He gives you extra credit just for going to class! It would be hard to fail this class.
POS3182
Three exams, two papers, and participation make up your grades. Lectures are dull and boring, though he tries to make them interesting will stupid jokes. Exams are easy if you study the outline he gives you. Media market paper was a pain to write, but if you follow his example you will be fine.
POS2041
Honors. Five 1500 (about) word essays. 3 books to read. He is a great professor, who loves and mastered his study. The only complaint is that this class is a LOT of work if you are taking it just to fill your Gen. Ed. You'll get what you put into the class, but if you want a piece of cake class , because POS might not be your major, perhaps avoid.
POS3424
Dr. Jewett is a nice guy but his class is remarkably boring. The textbooks are incredibly boring and the material in one of them is all inclusive on tests. The papers are a joke, the tests are very easy and he barely lectures. Not to mention the redundant current events. Easy class and you will be disappointed if you were hoping to learn a lot.
pos3424
Prof. Jewett seems truly interested in helping students in the classroom and beyond. His classes are def not easy though. Congress has two papers only one of which is over 5 pages. There's three tests, and you should listen when he recommends reading and rereading chapts. Knowing the txt well and his lectures is a must to get an A on tests.
POS3122H
Dr Jewett is a great professor. His classes do involve some work, but nothing crazy. He's always willing to help and is very clear with his thoughts and ideas in lecture. I would definitely take him again.
POS3122
I am taken his class online this summer and the amount of work is ridiculous. I'll break it down 9weeks of class read 2chapters & 5articles per week, 8quiz 8modules 8/1500words essay 7postings per module for an A and for the Final 8-12 page essay and he said "Don't wine about it" His motto "I will exhaust you until are so tired you can't even learn
POS1041
Seemed like a nice guy. However, didn't make an already boring subject any more interesting. Very difficult to pay attention for an hour and fifteen minutes every class period. However, there were only three multiple choice tests. They were very fair if you read the notes he provided and he gave extra credit for attendance.
POS2041
Had him for Honors. Lectures are really dry and boring. Gives you an outline for each chapter. Tests are fair as long as you go over the outline and know the CQ topics. Had weekly writing assignments from the CQ book due, but they were easy. Loved the class discussions. I would take him again
POS3182
This class may seem overwhelming at first, but the tests are actually pretty easy if you study. No tricks at all. Study the lecture notes and you'll be fine. 2 papers: first one is really easy but MediaMarket Analysis can be tedious and difficult. Attendance required. Still, Dr. Jewett is a great teacher and very helpful and passionate! A+
POS3182
Dr. Jewett is a fantastic professor! Tests are super easy if you study a little and the 2 papers are not bad at all. He takes attendance, but you get a bonus on tests (+ extra cred questions). He will always take the time to explain anything and is very helpful. Definitely recommend!
POS2041
Professor Jewett was a great professor. He was very fair and gave extra credit on tests for attending every class. His tests were easy if you read the book and know the CQ Researcher topics discussed in class. Even though I am not interested too much in Government courses, Jewett made it easy to enjoy. He also doesn't push his opinions on his stude
