Dr. Baringer is such a great teacher. I absolutely loved him! He is funny and the class is easy if you try. Attend lecture if you don't want to spend forever learning the material on your own. The tests are multiple choice, the lab grade is curved, the homework is on mastering physics, and the entire class is curved.

He's a great guy. He's not engaging with his voice, but he's funny. Tests were 12 multiple choice questions - there were 5 tests. Not a bad class.

Very Good teacher. I enjoyed his class and learned a great deal. The subject isn't the most fun, and parts were somewhat hard, but if you study, the tests are doable. Very highly recommended.

Awesome prof! Very friendly, clear teaching, lots of examples in class. Answers questions and always available in office hours if needed. Homework is on an online program (MasteringPhysics) that includes the ebook so I guess you don't really need the textbook at all. Uses the workbook in class but you don't need to buy it. Tests are TOUGH.

Phil is highly recommended! I actually took a Sci-Fi class from him, not a Physics class, and I really enjoyed it. He's smart and is one of the nicest people I have come across here at KU. Phil's pretty much the man.

Gives very clear outlined notes along with examples that is helpful towards the midterms. Class Participation Points is 5% of grade, therefore class is mandatory. Not only that but exams are modified questions of the CPP. Extremely nice and always willing to help. Took this class fall 2008 and got an A-.

Great teacher. We went over a ton of examples in class that were really helpful in learning the material and very relevant to what was on the tests. If you can put in the effort, you definitely can get an A. At least with honors, he had a reasonable curve, but I don't mean a huge one though.

Great Professor. Really cares about his students. His test are pretty hard, but he is really fair grading them. Study the book really hard and you will be fine.

A really nice guy who seems to take teaching physics very seriously and cares about students. Tests on the other hand, are extremely hard and are hard to study for since only easy ideas and problems are covered in class. Understanding the homework thoroughly is your best bet.

Overall a very good teacher. The lecture is absolutely boring, you'd be better off just doing the examples from the book and the homeworks. Tests mainly come from those two sources. Very helpful and explains concepts thoroughly.

Extremely helpful outside of class. Lectures were rushed and vague, which may have been due to class size. Lots of chances for good grade.
