Fin 310 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Kelly makes fin 310 about as easy as possible. If you can't handle this class, then finance/math is not your strong point. Having him in higher level finance classes opens you up to his real personality and his expertise. Highly recommend taking portfolio strategy from him for finance majors. Kelly might be the best finance professor at KU

Easily the worst teacher! glosses over the material and his exams are extremely tough. Stay away if you can.

FIN310 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Kelly is a great teacher, but if Finance doesn't really make sense to you, you'll be lost. He assumes you have prior understanding to most topics and glosses over, if he even mentions, the why you do what you do. If the class was less calculation and more conceptual and application, it would make more sense.

fin310 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Kelly is the best finance instructor at KU if you are looking to learn the material and not just get an easy grade. Hard class but do-able if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Go to the TA's review sessions and work the homework problems over and over to prepare for exams. Overall great instructor and great class

Only used the textbook for homework. DO the hw and projects. Tests are pretty hard. I wish I would of gotten a tutor.. His method of taking notes is horrible a bunch of circling and underlining. Class is VERY boring.

FIN417 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

His lectures are very engaging, and he calls on students throughout the lecture to answer questions, which gives the class a more discussion-like structure, and ensures active participation in the lecture. As others have indicated, his exams are not easy, but he usually curves at the end. One of the best professors at KU. Highly recommended!

FIN425 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Kelly is a classic example of a good teacher who has a hard class. You will learn a lot. side note: Felix Mensche is not on this site, but I want to warn all that he is the worst teacher at KU. He teaches nothing during class, then expects you to do projects that you haven't learned the material for each weekend. How he has not been fired? No Idea.

he is the most boring teacher ever. If you plan on taking finance 310 from him be ready to teach the material to yourself because you WILL fall asleep in class. His tests are pretty tough, but do-able, similar to accounting tests if you have had Shafel or Crabb. His class is a lot of work, most of which is pretty useless, stay away if possible.

I am a finance major and this professor is terrible. His HW, projects and quizzes are easy but are only 40% of the grade. His exams are impossible and are a major part. He does not curve this class but he does other classes. The TA's are terrible and cannot grade and are harsh. Check your exams b/c they take off excessive points.

Super nice guy! Draws on his power point slides while lecturing which some might find to be distracting, but he does it to highlight key points. Tells you exactly what to study for the tests repeatedly during class. He gives attendance quizzes that are always super easy as a reward for those who come to class. That being said, it is a hard class.
