Behind his "grumpy old man" persona, Dr. Weis is a hilarious, kind, thoughtful professor. It's true, coming to his class isn't really necessary except to pick up the take home midterm and final, but if you decide to go you won't be disappointed. One of the best teachers I've had at the school. You won't regret taking any course he offers.

He will tell you on the first day you don't need to show up besides receiving and handing in the midterm-the same goes for the project presentation. You should take his rudeness to consideration because he loves the reactions that students give him. His midterm is a take home which you can find in google.

Doc Weiss was one of the most influential PRofs at UArts and he didn't teach Art. One class with Doc Weiss can make anyone a better person. As stated abrasive and sarcastic but ultimately a compassionate individual with more to share than many combined. It wasn't the content of curriculum that made his classes a success. It was just him. Brilliant!

Although it probably was somewhat tounge-in-cheek, Weiss had a very course, abrasive, and insulting demeanor in the Physical Science course. Additionally, I had more High School anxiety related nightmares than I could count during the duration of the course.
