I actually felt bad for the guy. He looked like he was going to die any day. He is not a good teacher at all, which is why so many people make fun of him. From what I heard, he is much better for 210 than 211. He will try to explain material but will end up confusing the entire class. Get ready for a frustrating semester.

He is legit. Respect him and he will help you! Because he's hard of hearing, people are rude and take advantage of him. It's sad. Aside from that, do what your told and he will take care of those who help themselves. He is nearly deaf, so asking questions is hard, but trust me, he isn't stupid. Over all a good math teacher worth while.

Pretty good guy, but he was hard to understand at times. He's hard at hearing, but he's a nice guy and will help you out if you go to talk to him. His tests aren't too difficult as long as you know what you are doing. He puts the hardest material into open book, open note quizzes. Good guy! I would suggest taking his class
MAT210
He is a very sweet old man. Definitely not a teacher I would ever take a class from agian. He is very smart but it is hard to understand him and what he is teaching. On the other hand he is very kind and will help you out if you go and talk to him!
MAT210
Get ready to spend some long hours at the tutoring center. While he does make an effort to go over the material it doesnt really help. The webwork was a complete pain the butt though, dont wait until the last minute to do it...

If you have a solid mathematics background you will get an A. Seal is quite possibly the easiest grader in the math department. However, if you need an instructor whom you can learn from, or get ahold of for that matter, I would look elsewhere.

He's so laid back on his tests. It's ridiculous yet AWESOME. He practically gave us the answers to 30% of his final. The rest of his final questions were straight from Test I, II, and III. If a business student can't pass this class with a B or higher, he should drop out of the W.P. Carey School Business. Our economy doesn't need more idiots..

at the beginning of the year i hated him! i wanted to cry every day in class. i failed every quiz and test but in the end he curved all tests and he gave me 100% on all the quizzes and you only really have to do about 75% of the web work and he will give you 100% as long as you showed you attempted to do the problems. he wasn't as bad as i thought.

THIS IS AN HONEST REVIEW. Professor Seal isn't a effective teacher. BUT the stuff he teaches isn't hard. You can find all the information+formulas online. His tests are very easy. He curves them generously. You will get an A if you can pull 4 all-nighters. He's really nice. Also, if you try to do homework and his quizzes, you get full credit!
MAT211
A very hard class if you don't pay attention. If you listen to everything he says and write down what he puts on the board exactly, it makes perfect sense.
MAT210
Absolutely useless teacher. He is deaf (literally), has no understanding of what being a Teacher means, mumbles, does not explain any of the math (expects you to already know everything...so what's the point of the class?), is dirty (seriously, the guy looks homeless), his syllabus and website are sketchy at best. Scary teacher, stay away!
Math211
If math is your subject then take him, but he is not very helpful and does not explain things clearly. Sometimes does not show up for class and does not send out an email alterting students. Cannot hear students when they ask a question and often changes the syllabus.
Mat211
To pass this class, you have to take notes and do webwork. If you get stuck doing webwork, you have to ask Professor Seal or a math tutor. The tests are not too difficult if you study and do homework. 2 days before, Seal gives a quiz that is EXACTLY like the test. Seal curves his grades too. He's a pretty nice guy.
MAT210
I dropped his class after the first test. He is literally deaf and it doesn't help that I can't read his handwriting on the chalkboard. He also isn't too fond on giving examples. He just writes on the board as though as we all know what he is talking about, but about 99% of the class didn't have a clue!

Leave his unwashed clothing out of the equation and you have an amazing professor!! Sure he expects a lot out of you (homework, webwork and groupwork) BUT, he is EXTREMELY helpful, all you need to do is ask!!! Just show up to class, take notes on what he says, read the book, do your work and you will get an A!!
