Dr. Arudou is a good professor. He is straightforward which some students may not like, but I did. He really helps out with the assignments and we do plenty of small assignments to help with the big research paper at the end. Attendance is kept, but if you talk with him about what is going on, he is very understanding. Would recommend.
I loved Writing 1050 with Professor Arudo. My small hobby of writing was amplified thanks to this course, and thanks to the book-publishing professor. We wrote in journals twice a week, each at least one page long. There were frequent reading assignments as well as multiple essays. Do the busy work, refer to the readings for your essays, easy A.
Keeps tabs if you are a minute late. His class is time-consuming and can have multiple writing assignments done every week even though we wrote 1 real essay and everything else was preparing for the 1 essay. However all the other assignments were just as long and very time-consuming and many got hardly any credit. His lectures are very pointless.

This was my first year in college, and I had Arudou as my writing professor. He literally never helped me when I asked for help with my essays, he never gave me any advice or pointers on how to strengthen my writing. He is also rude to his students. His lectures are long and boring and there is literally an essay given every class.
I remember this student (the only F I gave). Didn't take most quizzes, late to 7 classes & absent from 8 (out of 25), didn't show up for scheduled conferences for help from me, and copy-pasted in his essays whole sentences from internet articles. That's why the F. I like feedback, but suggest giving it in course evals, not online revenge ratings.
Thanks for feedback. WRI 1200 is about writing rigorous research papers, so yes, writing one big paper by the end of the class is de rigueur (as is doing time-consuming research groundwork).Syllabus clearly outlines credit for all assignments. Tracking attendance is the prof's job; class must start on time when only 55 minutes to a class period.
