182R Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: B+

His class was really easy in terms of getting an A as long as you did the homework and you get a few extra credit quizzes where you just put your name to get points

ECOL182R Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Took his lecture because he was the only one with empty sections. Worst. Decision. Ever. He is verbally incoherent, posts notes with typos, makes tests that are almost unpassable even with a major curve. The last test we took the average was 60/110 AFTER a 10 point curve. He provides extra credit his preceptor doesn't grade.

What most people say about him is true. He is disrespectful to undergrad students and is not verbally coherent. I wish he would get to the point in his lectures instead rambling on about himself and off topic tangents. I would avoid him.

182H Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Awful, shouldn't be teaching. From day one you could tell he just didn't care and expected nothing of value because it's an undergrad class. Might be a nice guy on his own time, but he's a horrible teacher - this class is in my major and the subject is of interest to me and I still doze off in his lectures. I regret taking his honors section.

Very tedious class. Not related to the lecture section at all, and the concepts he presents are not fair for a freshman level bio class. However, he grades lightly and and will push due dates back a lot. Happy to have earned the 5 honors credits, but probably (95%) wouldn't take it again. Huge 45 minute presentation and 10-25 page paper...rough

ECOL302 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Extremely hard to understand, can't answer questions well. I am a straight-A student and barely pulled off a B in this class. If he is teaching again, do your best to avoid this class.

Once you figure him out, he is still hard but his questions are predictable. It's far from easy as they are very open ended questions with very specific answers. His attitude is less than positive and he goes off on irrelevant rants and expects you to remember them. All in all, not the worst but still not the best. Survivable to say the least.

Worst professor I have had at the UA. He blames the class for the fact that he can't teach. He is obnoxious, self righteous, and useless. He lectures with his eyes closed and stutters really badly. Take linear algebra before you take this class, even though it's not actually required. He expects you to know it. Avoid this class at all cost.

Dr. Schaffer is a great teacher when it comes to small class settings. Our class had a total of 8 students, all A-type personalities. Discussion was usually dominated by philosophical topics relating to the history of evolution. Lectures are mandatory, but tests are take-home essays and rather easy if you take the time to do them. I recommend it.

ECOL302 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

This class is extremely challenging. To succeed in his course, do all of the practice questions and make sure you get them right and understand them fully. Do every reading that is assigned, seeing as that's where his material stems from. If you don't understand something, go to his review sessions or to office hours; just ignore his attitude.
