CH 223 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Dr. Brown gets such a bad wrap, and look, Organic is a HARD class. You have to study a TON out of class, but as far as professors go, Dr. Brown is approachable, funny, and actually a pretty decent teacher. If you put in the time and effort, Dr. Brown will help you achieve a good grade, but don't expect him to just give it to you.

CH 223 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Worst chemistry teacher I have ever had. What he taught it class has NOTHING to do with the test and he does not respond to emails, nor does he care that the majority of his students fail every test.

I took organic II with Brown, it was a hard class because of the material but he was very fair and understanding. And kind of hilarious

CH 221 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Okay let me start by saving you some time. If you expect to go to class and get a good grade don't take Brown or Organic Chem for that matter. Now with that being said, Dr. Brown is the best professor i've had at NCSU he is extremely passionate about teaching organic and if you work hard (Read the textbook and sutdy outside class) you'll do fine!

Awful, avoid at all costs. Half the problems on tests seem irrelevant to what is being learned and he seems not to care much about helping you learn.

Oh man. I really liked Chemistry, especially Organic, and Dr. Brown is starting to make me hate it. He doesn't give partial credit, even if you get 99% of the answer right. He gives 20 question tests and if you miss one thing, automatic 5 point deduction. He comes in late to class and rambles about stuff that has nothing to do w/ the exam. AVOID!

CH221 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: WD

AVOID BROWN AT ALL COSTS. 1st exam I got an 80. 2nd exam, class average of 56.12, 15 point curve, only 1 A in the whole class. Over half the class has dropped since the start. Med school hopefuls: avoid him. He loves the material but is spastic at best. His tests are ridiculous, multiple answers for one question, must get all to get points.

CH 101 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

He is usually an organic teacher, but rumor has it he was so bad they moved him to 101. Do not expect this class to be easy. You will be your own teacher, you will need to read the book, and he will curve the tests so the average is a 70. His office hours are useful if you come in with specific questions, but lectures are jumbled a best.

Probably the worst teacher I've ever had. I went to lecture for the first few weeks before realizing they were just a huge waste of time. I tried to understand what he was saying, but the guy is simply not cut out for teaching. He needs to stick to research and never step foot in a classroom or lecture hall ever again. Made my 1st semester a PITA.

Dr Brown is usually an organic chemistry teacher, but if you have him for CH 101, be prepared to not understand anything and be confused for the majority of the semester. He's a really interesting guy with an alright sense of humor but his method of teaching really sucks. If you ask for help he will go out of his way to help you solve your problem
