Josh is a great guy and is very fair and helpful. I absolutely dreaded taking this class but was impressed with his flexibility in relating current events and hot button issues to the course. His grading was fair and he provided good feedback if you showed an interest in improving and approached him.

Best Philosophy Professor available at the Millersville University. If you are attending a class. You will definitely learn something new. Amazing conversations and debates in the class.
PHIL225
Dr. Fischel is a good professor. He will explain the different philosophical concepts if you ask him a question. I would recommend that you actually do the required reading for the class if you want to get an A! I find it quite annoying that most students don't care about learning the material. Remember, college is about expanding one's horizons!

Cool guy. Loves the band Queen. The class may seem scary or confusing at first, so just read the book, practice the problems yourself and you should be fine.
Phil211
very nice, laid-back guy. don't worry if the material doesn't click right away. just read the book, do the homework and practice problems, and ask for help during lectures, because he will help you in any way he can, and you will be fine. it's actually a pretty low-stress class as long as you read and practice.

Josh is a great person. He loves philosophy, and tries his best to help people understand the material. He is a super kind, sweet guy who treats you like actual person. He doesn't seem that much older than us, so, it was nice to kind of be on the same level. great prof. take him.

nice guy, and if you attend class the tests are pretty easy. the actual subject i think is difficult, but he helps you as much as he possibly can to make sure you get what he's talking about. lectures are a little boring, but hes a great professor.

It's a mystery what your final grade will be - that is until you get your final grade. He's a nice guy and class was interesting but throughout the course of the semester, he didn't give any feedback on course progress! Students need to know how they can improve.

I have had him as a professor at least three times and I wish Millersville would just hire him full time because he is a great prof. Understands the nature of a philosophy course and is one of the most knowledgeable in the Phil department. Also understands how ridiculous college grading can be and grades mainly on a paper and attendance. Great Prof

Whoever said he's hot, gross! He wears make-up and dressed in the same 3 outfits throughout the entire semester. As for his class, class discussions were boring- he got angry when no one read the book. He comes across as laid back but isn't. Also, very opinionated. Grade is class participation, One 5pg paper, and final exam (not difficult).

Josh didn't quite sit well with me after the first class last semester, but his style grew on me (and others in my class) as the semester progressed. The conversational tone of the class was great for a Philosophy course, and Josh was always willing to talk things over and help your understanding of the materials. Participate in class and you win.
PHIL100
There's a lot of reading to do and the assignments require a semi-understanding of the concepts so pay attention (which can be hard). Personality wise he is a cool dude, very laid back. Listens to tool : )
PHIL211
a nice man, but not the best professor. the class was very boring at times, especially being at 8 A.M. at the end of the semester the material gets harder, try not to get lost. 3 exams(including final).
PHIL100
Looks like Clark Kent, winner in my book. expected him to rip off his sweater every class to go save the world. listens to good music too.

I wasnt really a fan of this course. Fischel often went off on tangents and I would become lost a lot. Homework assignments were collected but never graded or returned so you never knew if you were understanding the concepts unless you went to office hours

only keeps attendance for first few days but you may miss documentaries if you miss.i ended up with a B+ and honestly barely studied but the book is needed for the readings. he switches his method every semester (my friend didnt evn have the book the semester before me)he loves the world bulls*** and looks like a wax figure :)
PHIL211
Dr. Fischel doesn't always explain things very clearly but he is a great guy. Don't be thrown off by the 1st few days off class when everything seems like a blur of incomprehensible terms. It will eventually become clearer. Very low stress class. I never did the readings but got A's on the tests. The final was take home and could be done in groups!
PHIL100
Cool guy.. alot of class discussion that is sometimes confusing, but you only write 3 papers all year and have no other grades. Recommended!

Great professor! The work for his class is fairly easy..you really don't need the books..his tests are pretty easy..just analysis..he is SUPER nice..i emailed him my big paper for the course before it was due and he told me what i needed to do to improve the grade..he is very helpful..doesn't take attendance so it's not mandatory..
