Run! Run now and do not look back. Mr. Fitzgerald changes the rules, requires you to purchase extra books, gives little to no direction and then blows off any complaints. The best directions yet have been to - Figure it out. Worst decision of college career to take this professor's course.

He's verbally dramatic and humorous at times. Understands students fear of speaking in public and is reassuring. Expects you know, but does NOT teach how to speak or do powerpoints. Expects Professional presentations, proper research papers & citing sources. Teaches mostly from book. Best if you ask him questions & follow his instructions.

Easy IF you follow his instructions for Speeches and Writing Assignments "EXACTLY" for A. Focus on doing best on Speeches worth the most points. Quizzes & Tests can be hard if you do NOT study. Do extra credit paper to raise grade. He expects you to know APA citing and PowerPoint but he does NOT teach it in class. Best to ask questions in class.

I'll keep it brief. He is fair on his grading and the workload for his online class was very reasonable. He responds to questions quickly and grades within a few days of the due date. What else can you ask for?

4 Presentations: Introductory, Informative, Persuasive, & Ceremonial. There is enough info in the text to do well. Weekly quizzes & online discussions. Discussions based on 5 Communication principles that are NOT spelled out in the book. About 1/4 of the questions on the Mid-Term & the Final are not in the text.

I rather enjoyed this class - he was very energetic 99% of the time and seemed passionate about communication. Very interesting class! He is quick to give his input and to put in grades which is a great thing. Also a really relaxed class so you don't have to flip out about everything.

His speech assignments are very clear, he's very easy in grading. If you're looking for an easy class, this is the guy. He goes over the chapters in power points, and bases the quizzes on the PPTs. If you have the book, you can highlight all the stuff that is on the PPTs.

Reading the bad comments on here, I think the students probably just didn't do their work. With every speech, he gives you a rubric so you know what to do. Instructions are clear. The class was so easy as long as you do your work. The book is needed. I recommend him, he is a really good teacher!

Dont expect a clear answer from Him. Useless... I sent a multiple question email and his response had nothing to do with what i had asked... This happened a few times as well as leaving a voice mail that was never responded to. seems pretty unfair to spend all this money and you cant get a simple question answered.

To be straight forward Mr. F is one of those teachers who has been teaching too long and thinks they can do whatever they want. Midterm review is NOT clear and he talks about whatever he wants.A lot of people have things to do and instead of focusing on class Mr.F thinks it is 3 hours to banter and have an audience. He Should not be called a teacher

PLEASE STOP TEACHING DAVID. Don't believe the few people on here who david favorited and DECIDED to give an A. The man heavily influences what grade you will get. If he likes you then you will be able to makeup tests when you miss class. If not, you are out of luck. The man is simply a disgrace.

The class is 3 hours for david to rant about whatever he wants. If you go off topic with him and talk about what he wants he will like you. I missed a day and he makes it very difficult to make up assignments. He is rude in emails and cowardly nice after in class. You will see an extreme ego in class and dont ask him for help because he'll be rude

Best teacher ever, I really enjoyed this class. He is easy-going and very helpful. He also makes you feel comfortable when speaking. Speeches are easy. Just study for quizzes, midterm and final. Definitely take him if you are afraid of public speaking. :)

Class is okay, but Midterm and Final are killers. We are not allowed to review them so we don't know where we went wrong. He does not answer email and makes one third of the class do speeches two weeks before the last third of the class. He refuses to rotate. He refuses to put speeches on Angel early so we can work on them.

Mr. Fitzgerald is a nice guy and grades pretty fairly. I took his online class and it was fairly easy, except the midterm and final were somewhat difficult. There were a few hick ups along the way, but I would still definitely recommend taking him -- especially if you have a fear of public speaking like I do!

Very helpful and clearly enjoys teaching this class. Grades generously on speeches provided you seem prepared. Be sure to study for the mid-term and final though, they're taken from the book material and the class focuses a lot more on speeches than lecture so you have to keep up with the reading.

Hands down, one of my favorite teachers on campus. He's very understanding and easy-going. Don't regret taking him at all. As long as you put in the effort, he'll notice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I do not recommend him at all. At first I liked him since his rants can be interesting, but I quickly realized he barely taught anything. The speeches are pretty easy. All of the other assignments are difficult. His Movie Review is especially since the questions are vague and he specific answers. You need the textbook to pass the tests.
