Prof. Sobel is a very bright professor. He is witty. Class can be boring due to the material but if you go to discussion and do problem sets you will get an A. class is fair,just be willing to work hard at it .

Honestly, one of the best, and brightest professors in econ. he explains material in a way that, if you can pay attention, you can't help but understand. If you want an A, you have to understand the material. I recommend this class to anyone who enjoys learning.

Sounds like we had completely different professors. This guy tells more stories than he does teach. He says from funny things, but his notes are terrible, and he doesn't explain things well at all.

Boring class and material, but I'm sure he's doing his best to teach it. Overall very do-able and he says some really funny things sometimes

Knows how to teach what he teaches. Go to lectures and look over slides, and follow his advice on how to study. Material is interesting too :)

I don't like his lecture notes, though he does lecture directly from his custom-made lecture soft reserve, but I don't like reading it cause it's so boring. I have trouble focusing on his long paragraphs. The stuff is hard I think, but he makes the material seem easier than it is.

he explains the material VERY well, in a way that you can understand easily if you go to class. you don't need to buy the book because he has very detailed lecture notes on the web. also, he throws a few stories into his lectures to keep you awake.
