I have nothing but respect for Sylvie, (she still scares me though). Lab methods has been one of the most practical, interesting and ball busting class I have taken, but it adds character and chest hair. And her accents hot get over it.

read the textbook, otherwise u won't learn that much from her teaching. she is hard to understand with that accent, u can learn just as much by reading the textbook as attending lectures. Other than that I liked her

Lab Methods. All you whiny 1st years that think shes hard just wait until you take classes that actually require. Yes you should read the text book. Yes you should go to class. Suck less. Shes harder then Garside, but she teaches useful stuff you can take with you.

As mentioned before, Sylvie's English-French hybrid language make attending class counterproductive. After a midterm with a very poor class average, she emailed the class and informed them that if they did poorly, there were only 2 days left to drop the course. I would recommend avoiding any courses she teaches at all costs.

She is from france and in her lectures she speaks a hybrid language that i call Fringlish. IMPOSSIBLE to understand and you can learn more by just not going and just downloading the lecture notes.

The worst professor ever. Does not deserve to be even called "a teacher". And I had A- in Biochem with her teaching it. Her contribution, as a teacher, was close to 0 to a decent grade that I got.

Anyone taking lab methods prepare to fail. Grading is unfair and ambiguous. She's impossible to please. I regret this course as it has ruined my life. Switch out of this class avoid it at all costs I swear.

Sylvi is ok, just not helpful sometimes and very very unclear, but we still love you

She's ok, everything you need to know was in the textbook. Quite often there were only 4 or 5 people in the tutorial sessions, that's not her fault.

She will help you if you are nice to her, but don't be rude and expect the most from her
