Nice man , however his lectures have nothing to do w/ the textbook. He rambles on for the whole 3 hours- yes 3 hours w one 8 minute break. the lecture notes are used for the short answer section in exams. Text book material is dense and he expects us to thoroughly know both- short answer grading is very hard too. Avoid if you can.

Frustrating! His lectures move at an excruciatingly slow pace, the material he covers is Psych101 and a waste of time, 0 relevance to the book which is dense/boring in how it's written but the content is interesting and could be elaborated on rather than simple concepts stretched out for 3 hours. Have to attend as he doesn't post his slides.

The course content is very interesting! You MUST attend every class to understand the different developmental theories clearly. There is one quiz (it was absurd), we only had 20 minutes to complete it too. There is a group project as well where you get to pretend you're a psychologist and interview someone(my favourite part of the course).

The material that we learned was very interesting. However, Avitzur expects you to know your stuff so be prepared to participate! He can be intimidating and the quiz is ridiculous... but don't let that discourage you! Do NOT slack off in this class. There is an interesting project where you interview someone and track their development!(best part)

Great professor. He's knowledgeable, understanding, and really passionate about psychology. I particularly liked how he related class material to his own experiences with patients. I'm really glad I took this course with him!

He's a nice professor who really wants to help his or her students with enthusiasm. You can talk to him freely during his office hour and you'll practically get some help to succeed in his class. I somewhat agree that his grading scheme was a bit weird and perhaps it seems unfair to someone else. I do not regret that I took his class on 4000-level

Amazing prof. I was actually sad when the class was over. He expects you to have read the material and be able to comment cogently - which is to be expected in a fourth year course. If you are interested in learning and being challenged, then take this course.

This guy is awesome. I loved the way the course was structured, and how he puts emphasis on class discussion. (I'm very introverted, and I found that he really helped me come out of my shell.) Can be hard to understand at times and seem picky or tough but I believe he's trying to make you think. One of the best profs I've ever had.

I didn't really like this prof. He clearly has favourites and isn't fair to everyone. The organization of the course is very different. The winter term is all presentations. The class itself is okay and he explains concepts fairly well. I didn't learn much in this course.

LOVED the class, amazing prof!! He made sense of theories that seemed very abstract!! Prof Avitzur is one of those profs that you would want for all your courses, as he is fair and very friendly!!

Prof. Avitzur is the WORST professor I've ever had! He will put down any ideas you bring up in class. Half the class is presenting, and he gets paid for sitting there listening. He is not helpful; and apears aloof towards his students. He is inconsistent in his requirements for assignmentes.

Smart prof. Good class in general. The concepts are not easy, and you are expected quite a bit of work and discussion; none-the-less, all my peers who I talked to enjoyed the content and the assignments. Doesn't like tardiness or attitude! If you do neither; you will most-likey enjoy the class.

It was an amazing course. Deep into psychology. I didn't miss a class! I wish we had more courses like that.

sigh...i don't know if the course is tough...or if the atmosphere in the room is tough...i personally had a difficult time expressing myself in the course...was very nervous...if you're a HUGE extrovert..u should be fine..marking scheme is pretty simple...1 paper, 2 presentations,no exams,

Focused almost exclusively on psychoanalysis even though not a psychanalysis course. By halfway point in the course had accumulated only 8% of total grade. Completely ignores whole areas of personality theory. Boring!

I actually really enjoyed this class. Prof. Avitzur is pretty strict about attendance and does not like tardiness. You are expected to do your readings before class in order to participate in class discussions. He has a pretty good sense of humor, and is a nice guy. If you do the readings and participate, you'll do well in class.

Material wasn't too bad, however, he was extremely boring. He tried to make the class entertaining, but overall he was very boring and very hard to understand. Sometimes I couldn't tell whether he was talking to the class or just talking to himself to sort things out for himself.
