PSYC 3490 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Nice man , however his lectures have nothing to do w/ the textbook. He rambles on for the whole 3 hours- yes 3 hours w one 8 minute break. the lecture notes are used for the short answer section in exams. Text book material is dense and he expects us to thoroughly know both- short answer grading is very hard too. Avoid if you can.

PSYC3490 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Frustrating! His lectures move at an excruciatingly slow pace, the material he covers is Psych101 and a waste of time, 0 relevance to the book which is dense/boring in how it's written but the content is interesting and could be elaborated on rather than simple concepts stretched out for 3 hours. Have to attend as he doesn't post his slides.

PSYC 4010 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

The course content is very interesting! You MUST attend every class to understand the different developmental theories clearly. There is one quiz (it was absurd), we only had 20 minutes to complete it too. There is a group project as well where you get to pretend you're a psychologist and interview someone(my favourite part of the course).

The material that we learned was very interesting. However, Avitzur expects you to know your stuff so be prepared to participate! He can be intimidating and the quiz is ridiculous... but don't let that discourage you! Do NOT slack off in this class. There is an interesting project where you interview someone and track their development!(best part)

Great professor. He's knowledgeable, understanding, and really passionate about psychology. I particularly liked how he related class material to his own experiences with patients. I'm really glad I took this course with him!

He's a nice professor who really wants to help his or her students with enthusiasm. You can talk to him freely during his office hour and you'll practically get some help to succeed in his class. I somewhat agree that his grading scheme was a bit weird and perhaps it seems unfair to someone else. I do not regret that I took his class on 4000-level

Amazing prof. I was actually sad when the class was over. He expects you to have read the material and be able to comment cogently - which is to be expected in a fourth year course. If you are interested in learning and being challenged, then take this course.

This guy is awesome. I loved the way the course was structured, and how he puts emphasis on class discussion. (I'm very introverted, and I found that he really helped me come out of my shell.) Can be hard to understand at times and seem picky or tough but I believe he's trying to make you think. One of the best profs I've ever had.

I didn't really like this prof. He clearly has favourites and isn't fair to everyone. The organization of the course is very different. The winter term is all presentations. The class itself is okay and he explains concepts fairly well. I didn't learn much in this course.

LOVED the class, amazing prof!! He made sense of theories that seemed very abstract!! Prof Avitzur is one of those profs that you would want for all your courses, as he is fair and very friendly!!
