The class is an easy way to fulfill the senior project requirement, but it's not a super valuable course - Freeman tells what is going to be on the exams and you don't really get that much out of the class. He's a really nice person, but it's hard to enjoy the class unless you're an academic interested heavily in comp. political economy.

Freeman is an awesome professor. He will go to extremes to help you understand the material. He sincerely wants you to get a good grade. No homework. He tells you exactly what is gonna be on the exams. Choose him over anyone else.

The class was based around reading dense academic papers and then having three tests on them. Freeman is one of the more intelligent professors. He basically tells you what's going to be on the test, but this is actually one of the "harder" poli sci classes I've had because it's not BS stuff you can make up or feel good PC crap.

absolutely LOVE Freeman!! What an amazing human being. Apart from being a great professor, is just a kind-hearted person, who is passionate about PoliSci. Take any course with Prof. Freeman, and you won't regret it :)

This class was very interesting. Freeman was funny and clear in his explanations of different IR concepts. Anyone can clearly see his passion for global politics and his midterms were based off of the lectures and reviews. Just make sure to take good notes and you will do great in this class. I would strongly recommend this course.

Professor Freeman is an excellent professor. He keeps lectures interesting by bringing in outside information and he tells funny and interesting stories. I took this class as a filler and now it's probably going to be my major (political/global science). Lectures are used for essays on exams and the textbook is used for terms on the exam. TAKE IT!

Prof. Freeman is an incredibly smart man. He makes lectures pretty interesting and fun at the same time. His exams are definitely not easy but all the terms come from the book. His TA's were useless but he really did a good job in keeping me interested all year. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR THOSE MAJORING IN POLI SCI

Freeman is an amazing professor! Makes lectures interesting and worthwhile. The class isn't easy, but if you come to lecture and take good notes, an A is very possible. The textbook is pretty much only used for terms; essay questions are all from lecture. He tells you exactly what is on the midterms the class before the tests! Highly recommend!!

Hilarious! And he is very down to earth, which helps you understand the relevance of what you are experiencing with the texts, not just memorizing information. He makes it important not for the grade, but in your life as a student. One of the best teachers I've had. Keep up the Dr. Strangelove references!

Freeman is a total bro. He's the kind of professor that can make you question your major in favor of a degree in Political Science. He's extremely nice and presents all the material in a way so that it is highly accessible to all types of people and w/o being boring. His tests are fairly standard. If you study you'll do fine.

Lectures are great! And he's funny too. The first few might be confusing because he doesn't pick things right out of the textbook. Once you do the readings and attend lectures more, you will start to understand. Attend review sessions. He basically tells you what is on the test. Just attend lectures, do the readings, get help from him/TAs.

Professor Freeman is an award winning educator for a reason. He truly cares for, and looks out for his students. From the cost of the textbook to his test formats he thinks of us all the way. Truly the greatest professor I have ever had at the U of M. Regardless of personal interest in political science TAKE HIS CLASSES!

Great professor, really helpful and flexible. Helpful in preparing for exams and provides feedback. He has a good sense of humor and is extremely personable. I would recommend him for any class, but 1025 was a great introduction to political science my freshman year (and ended up as one of my majors). Great for any major!

He is a super nice guy with a lot of interesting knowledge! He explains the subject matter of the exams crystal clear. Answers all questions quickly and at any time! He makes the class interesting, no matter what the topic is. I would definitely suggest him as a professor anytime! Be careful, his TA's are tough graders.

He is the nicest, most genuine professor at the U, who truly cares for his students. Everyday he stays late as students line up to talk to him. Goes above & beyond what anybody expects. Tests are hard, but you learn so much from this class :)
