I was really scared before taking Micro. But Mr.Hoover was a really good teacher and made all the material something I could grasp. I would take him again if he taught macro. :)

Dr. Hoover comes off as mean at the beginning but he is mainly just being loud to scare off the bums. After you get into the flow of the class he is a great teacher with entertaining lectures and I would recommend Dr. Hoover to anyone who actually wants to learn!

Dr. Hoover is a great, great teacher. I was soo nervous taking economics because I heard it was a difficult class, but to my surprise the concepts were not that bad! Dr. Hoover taught all the concepts very well and made it easy for the students to understand. Totally recommend this teacher for this class!

Loved him! Great class, very easy if you take the time to study the powerpoints and work the problems out (which he does in class). Gives out study guides that are very similar to the exams. Extremely helpful teacher, makes the class interesting, and he's pretty funny! Wish he was teaching 111!

great class. he's really funny and makes going to an economics class a little less painful. tests are easy, he gives you notes online to print out that are exactly like whats on the test. has study guides for every test too. easy A. highly rec

I had to take Econ110 a second time, and I chose a different teacher and I am so glad I did. Great class. He tries to make the class interesting, he gives you powerpoints, and he works problems out in class. If you read the material and take good notes you can make an A.

Professor Hoover is an awesome teacher! i thought his class was an EASY A+. there is no way you should make below a C in his class. i would recommend him to anyone.

Dull material and class, however he does what he can to liven the class up. He is a good teacher of a dull subject. His tests are not hard if you study and GO TO CLASS. Good teacher. Easy to talk to.

He is easy to understand and is pretty funny. The topic is dull, but he tries to liven it up as best he can... The homework however is hard, and sometimes it's difficult to tell what will be on the test. Make sure to study your homework, though!

Good class. Gives old exams and homework questions that end up on the exam also. Makes answer keys of student answers. If you don't remember your math or economics, you will suffer in this class. He's a smart ass but knows what he's doing. Doesn't like people late or using cell phones.

Avoid his class. Very unreasonable and lazy. Doesn't do any problems and does not provide any solution to problems that he gives. Makes the class a lot more difficult that it is. He is more suited for 100 level courses. Exams are difficult and mostly numerical based which he DOES NOT work on in class. Full of himself,very disrespectful and arrogant

Horrible teacher. Makes the class more difficult that it is. Does NOT do any problems is class "AT ALL", his entire exam is nothing but Problems. Unfair grading. Uses a book that does not provide a single example on problems. Very Lazy expects the highest standards but does not stick to them himself. Mocks and Insults you if you ask for extra help.

Gary makes EC 110 the easiest and most interesting class that it possibly can be by explaining each subject clearly, offering TONS of extra help outside of class, and telling a couple of jokes during each lecture to keep you interested. I am so glad I had him as my Econ professor, I wouldn't have passed otherwise.

The hardest teacher I have ever had! DO NOT take him for ECON 110!! His lectures are hard and his tests are impossible! He never has time to help you outside of class and the TA's are useless.

He is SO easy! Go to class, take notes, study the notes and homework, and you'll ace all the tests. Possible grade of 110/100 on each test. Reads students' emails before class. Put simply...he's hilarious and a fantastic professor. Take him! P.s. test questions are often the same as homework questions, homework is 10% of grade, tests are 90%.

Hilarious before class. Actual material is really dull, but he does what he can. If you have to take EC 110, you might as well take him.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I have taken this class before and couldn't pass but Dr. Hoover made it so interesting :) You would be lucky to get into his class-- have heard horror stories of other teachers!! Sit up close to the front, he'll flirt with you -- he's very sexy!

If you can get into his class, you should do it. He's no-nonsense but if you are respectful to him he will be respectful to you. He makes a dificult subject as simple and interesting as possible and gives very helpful and energetic lectures. A great teacher! UA is lucky to have him.

This was my 3rd time taking econ here, and he is by far the best econ teacher, class is Not Mandatory,but does help to go, all tests come striahgt from the notes and the homework, take him and no one else

An all-around great guy. Very intelligent, but makes economics easy to understand! Tests are all short-answer/word problems and moderately difficult. Lots of old tests/study guides online & plenty of office hours. Take the honors version if possible.

He is a GREAT teacher and the reason why I'm doing well in a subject that I really don't like. He makes it interesting and fun...and he's nice to look at.
