"Would take again"

Great teacher, hard class. Tests are very hard. There's a lot of material at once. I went to every lecture, took notes, went to study sessions, went to tutoring at koffler and still got F's consistently on each test. But so did everyone else, so the curve is very high. To get an A you needed an 84% for my semester. I barely scraped by with a C.

This class maybe a difficult for someone who has a weak chemistry background. His lectures are entertaining and get you engaged in the material. He also puts on Friday Review Sessions which are helpful. This class has many resources to help you so take advantage of it (prof, free tutoring in Koffler, preceptors, lab TA, Friday study sessions).

If you get the chance to take Dr. Pollard's class, don't even hesitate to press that enroll button. Hands down the best class I've taken. Dr. Pollard makes his lectures interesting and really cares about his students. The class overall is difficult but if you invest time and effort into it, you will do well.

He cares about what he's doing and cracks a few jokes. Lectures are important if you want to pass, I'd recommend going to all the review sessions if you don't have a strong background in chemistry. The tests are very difficult. If you're taking Chem 151 he's easily the best lecturer and wrote the book that all the Chem 151 classes use.

DR. POLLARD IS THE GREATEST PROFESSOR EVER! He literally is my idol. He is so smart and passionate about his job. Truly a great professor that explains so well. His tests are hard, but the whole chem department take the same test and the test will be hard anyway. Dr. Pollard's lecture are so great and he explains really well! TAKE DR. POLLARD!!!!!

"Hilarious" "Amazing lectures" "Respected by students"

Pollard has very good lectures, you certainly won't get bored. He makes jokes and explains things clearly. I beleive he wrote the curicculum for chemical thinking so he is a good lecture to go for to do well on the test. If you have to take Chem 151 I would recommend either pollard or hidalgo.

Pollard is actually passionate about chemistry and its obvious in his teaching. His class is by no means easy but you will learn everything you need to know. If you are going to take Ochem DEFINITELY take Pollard. 2 tests into Ochem and I havent even studied yet.

His passion makes learning the material easy. Teaches how to think critically and apply what you know which you can then apply in the real world. People only fail due to laziness. May seem intimidating, just participate in class and OH and you'll earn his respect. Really cool guy, best teacher in college. Inspiring lectures. RELEASE THE HOUNDS.

Hard class. Exams are hard, you must understand the material to do well. Test averages can get down into the high 40's, be prepared.

Pollard is the bomb. Seriously, take his course if you can. He truly wants you to do well and he tries his best to prepare you for his exams. I still had to study like crazy and use things like clutch prep for extra practice, but I ended with a good grade and I really enjoyed learning chem with him. Take this guy if you can!

I took Dr. Pollard two years ago and was a preceptor for him this past year. I just wanted to point out that the students who gave the class poor ratings did so because they are not motivated. If you are not a motivated student, stay out. But if you are and you are willing to give it your 100%, Dr. Pollard is the BEST option.

Dr. Pollard is an outstanding professor who truly cares about the success of his students. His classes are challenging, but he provides you with all of the resources you need to succeed. Definitely take Chemical Thinking from Dr. Pollard--you will learn a great deal and will enjoy the class, too!

He is an outstanding professor. With that being said, class material requires a lot of individual thinking (it's chemical thinking for a reason). If you do a lot of practice problems, actively participate in class, and go to the various TA and preceptor study sessions, you should do well!

Dr. Pollard was one of my favorite professor my freshmen year. His class and test are difficult but they prepare you for organic chemistry and another upper division chemistry or biology class you will take. Go to class, the review sessions, study, and you'll be fine!

Pollard is seriously the best professor. He really cares for the success of his students. I was apprehensive for taking chemistry at the beginning of the year, but it ended up being my favorite class both semesters. The class may be difficult, but he prepares you with the proper content and thinking for you to succeed in your other classes. Do it!
