Her class was boring and redundant. I deraded it every time. Her topics were taught biastly, and she taught the same things over again every class. I'm not a fan.

I was excited as hell for my first ever journalism class. Untill i found out that it was going to be more like an into to femminazism. The issues discussed were rarely interesting, but when they were they were unclearly explained and rapidly passed over. Given the reputation of the UO journalism program, i assumed the professors would be better.

Pointless projects and assignments. Kept commenting about the course being an outlet for her to write a book. Boo.

I really enjoyed Merskin's class. She's very intellegent and knows a lot about the subject. I found her to be helpful and friendly.

Absolutely awful. Incompetent. I find it amazing that UO's Journalism program, which has such a great reputation, is letting this woman teach their introductory course (or ANY course for that matter). Ugh.

Taught the class in a fascist manner, not allowing students to think outside of her set thinking box. Assignments were rarely helpful in achieving the course goals and were poorly explained until after the grades were finished.

She made it clear that she was only teaching our class, so she would have a basis for writing her book. I left the course with a sour taste in my mouth. Only 2 A's were given out of 130+ remaining students, and that was with extra credit. Unavailable.
