Dwyer is a great teacher. He lectures very well and explains things really well. Each lecture he goes over material learned in the previous lecture which is super helpful. You definitely want him for Physics 2.

Prof. Dwyer is one of the best I've had so far at RPI. He's a great lecturer and uses lots of real-world examples and applications to explain concepts. In Physics II, you can't find anyone better, and I'd recommend him wholeheartedly.

Prof. Dwyer is great in that he is actually a TEACHER, not just a guy who talks at you about his subject. His explanations are thorough, his lecture experiments are practical applications to course material, and he is extremely personable. Plus he has an awesome mustache.

Dwyer is a no BS prof;however if you're willing to learn he will go out of his way to help you.Physics II is a hard course and if you're not willing to put the work in, you won't do well(unless if you're a genius).I got a 63 on the first test and a 97 on the last test-Dwyer helped me quite a lot;he helps you if you take the initiative.Great teacher

Awesome professor. Even if you're not a big fan of physics, Prof. Dwyer's lectures are entertaining, highly informative, and interesting. His use of written notes will help you learn much more than Powerpoints will teach you. He is very approachable and friendly, and will gladly answer any questions you may have.

Worst physics teacher I've ever had. You have to copy projector notes otherwise you only have the textbook to review, so you don't have any time to understand physics! Activities were also meaningless. Even I got them all right I don't know what's the point of it. He didn't reply emailed questions, and usually just disappeared during the activity.

Professor Dwyer keeps attention during lecture by taking commercial breaks to give awesome demonstrations. He tells stories that make the material memorable. And he explains difficult course material concisely. Although Physics II is still a difficult course, Professor Dwyer keeps it straightforward. He is an amazing teacher.

Dwyer is a great teacher. He knows his stuff and loves to answer your questions. Magnetics and electricity aren't my strongest suites but he still made it good going through and learning them. He's great to talk to out of class as well. He'll help clear up anything you need as well as be a great person to talk to in general.

Dr. Dwyer is a wonderful professor. I can't stand Physics yet I enjoy class with him. He's very helpful, very smart, and very open to questions. He also likes to have "commercials" where he gives real-life examples of how things work. Great guy!

Dwyer's really cool, really knows his stuff, and really enjoys teaching students. He chews you out pretty hard if youre ever late and he's got some pretty high standards but he makes sure his students reach them.

Dwyer is tied with schmidt for the best professor at rpi. He's extremely clear and his notes are excellent. Goes out of his way to help you.

Amazing professor, no other way to put it. Unlike other professors too caught up in their research hes JUST here to teach. He writes all the notes out for you every class period, and gives great review packets before each exam. His teaching skill is reflected in his tests averages being almost 20 points higher than other sections.

Great Professor. He will help you get the grade you want. His class is slightly more demanding but you will do well in the tests if you listen to him

Scott Dwyer was one of my least favorite professors at RPI. If you are a nerd and love physics that you'll probly love him. but for the average student... try to avoid him.

It's more important to Dwyer that you get a good grade than your actually learning the material. This could be a good thing depending on your preference.

Very good teacher, presents the material well. The rest of the sections use prepared powerpoint, while Dwyer writes all the notes out for you in class. His classes have the highest average of all the sections.
Physics II
He makes the class fun and is a overall great guy, and most importantly, he really knows how to teach. The only drawback to his class is that the homeworks are graded very hard. I probably would have gotten an A in his class if the homework rubric was the same as the other classes.
Physics 2
Dwyer absolutely blew me away with how amazing of a professor he was. After an absolutely horrid physics 1 experience, Dwyer completely redeemed the physics department as a whole. Never has a professor gotten my interest in a class, conveyed the material so well, and been such a good guy. RPI needs to use him as a model!!!

Physics II
I don't have enough words to convey my satisfaction and impression of Dwyer. He does an awesome job with the lectures and exam prep- it makes learning pretty easy. One caveat: he is pretty tough on grading homework but this is a tiny price for what you get for signing up for his physic sections.

Excellent professor. I actually learned the material IN CLASS for once. He explains things perfectly. Top 3 profs I've had. There is one downside tho. His class grades the homework like crazy. I've gotten a 100 once on a HW assignment, and I try very hard on them. In Physics I, I used to get 100s on all my HW w/out trying much. Still amazing tho.

If you want to do well in physics 2 definatly take it from this professor! He cares about his students and their gtrades...and he does everything possible to help you do well!

Dwyer is great. Get him, seriously. A little more work that the other professors, but totally worth it. He's a really nice guy and an EXCELLENT professor, one of the best at RPI for sure. I wish he taught physics 1 too. Prepares you for the exams really well, gives out study packets. A little bitter about IBM, but it's ok. Totally rules!

far and away the best teacher I have had at RPI. He cares so much about students understanding material, and shows it with the best tests scores of all sections consistently. He makes a serious effort to get to know his students,and he is an extremely out going nice guy and an excellent teacher.

Dywer is a great teacher. He steers away from the powerpoint and that helps students immensely. He also knows students names and knows their difficulties. Execellent in class demonstrations. Made me like physics again after a terrible physics 1 class.

Seek this guy out for your pysics classes. He is the most helpful prof i've ever had. He'll care more about your grades than your parents

This guy is freakin amazing. Extremly helpful, easy to understand, clear notes, makes the class somewhat interesting. Plus he give a well detailed packet before the exam to study from. Excellent.

this guy is the man. hes had the highest test avgs in his classes for a couple years in a row. hes english and speaks it well.

He is extremely friendly and willing to help you out. His notes are excellent, and he knows his stuff and is very clear when teaching.

An awesome physics professor. He learned my name, that's a big thing to me. He really cares about you as an individual and wants to help.

Cool guy. Tough to get an A but his review packets are amazing. He'll know your name if you go to class.

Scott is the best professor I've had so far at RPI (2 yrs). He explains all concepts and presents material in an understandable fashion. Gives out great review packets, and MAKES HIS OWN notes, in addition to the powerpoints. Gt his section for an A!!

Dwyer was by far the best teacher I've had so far at this school. He explained things thoroughly, but clearly. Plus he's a funny guy and has some great stories about the people at IBM. Definitely sign up for his section if you can!!!!

PROF. DWYER IS THE BOMB DIGGITY. If you get the opportunity to take Physics II with him, DO IT FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. He gives out awesome review packets before the test and also just generally is very good at explaining difficult concepts with examples. A+
Physics 2
If you're going to take Physics 2, Dwyer is the guy for you. All that time he spent in the real world (with real physics) really shows.
