"Would take again" "Big time extra credit" "Clear grading criteria"

Puts his lectures online(not always on time) so you don't have to go to class but I recommend it, he's definitely not monotone in class, you can tell he wants you to understand the material. Gave 25 bonus points for doing a small project which helped A LOT!! 4 tests and then 4 online quiz, if you put in the effort an A or B is not too hard to get!

"Skip class? You won't pass." "Tests are tough" "Get ready to read"

He acts like he wants his students to do well, but makes it nearly impossible for them to pass. He does not cover all the test material in class, but then does not upload the online lectures until no more than 3 days before the test date. On multiple occasions I have had to listen to hours of online lectures in just 2 days. Terrible class

Did not finish lecturing all of the material before our tests. Said online audio lectures would be posted on a certain date. The audios were posted later than the given deadline. Uploaded 5-7 hours of online audio lectures 1-3 days before an exam, and we were tested on the audio lecture material. Did not show up to class on several occasions.

Dr. Gilchrist is AWESOME! He was so passionate about what he was teaching which made the class interesting. I took this class during the summer which made it more condensed and it was a little tough. Gilchrist gives plenty of bonus questions on tests and there's a bonus project worth 20 pts! Great teacher and class!

Dr. Gilchrist was an OK teacher. He's a tad bit boring but is knowledgable about Physiology. The key to passing his class is learning his slides. Everything he tests on comes directly from his slides. Learn them and you'll pass with flying colors! No book needed and attendance isn't mandatory because he posts his lectures on Blackboard. Made a B-

Dr. Gilchrist keeps class very interesting to say the least. He is very knowledgable about the subject. Going to class helps, although it is not mandatory. Use his audio lectures! He does not ask a question on the test that does not talk about in his online audio lectures.

Highly recommend this teacher. His tests come from what he talks about during class, do not miss class. Keeps lectures interesting and engaging. His tests are challenging; but they teach you how to take exams outside of his class. I remember learning the most from his classes and even recalled the information throughout nursing school.

Dr. Gilchrist is one of the best professors I have encountered. He is very helpful and thorough. Anytime I had a question he was overly willing to assist and give detailed explanations. It would benefit you to visit his office if you have any questions about materials. I absolutely adore him and I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

I adored Dr.Gilchrist. He is very difficult but if you really study, you should have no problem. His notes are the holy grail so really pay attention. You will come out of his class smarter than when you came in. Get to know him, he is a really great guy.

The hardest class I ever took at UAB. I didn't understand his lectures. I feel like I went to class for nothing because I didn't obtain anything.

Dr. Gilchrist is an amazing professor. However, this class was difficult. You should be prepared to listen to the audio lectures. Although i did attend every lecture, listening to the audio was a big help on the quizzes and exams. Also, i wouldnt recommend reading the text, just skimming through the important sections. Also, DO THE BONUS PROJECT!!!

This class was hard. He threw a lot of information out at once with a lot of big words where you had to ask yourself was it really a real word. However, this guy will help you if you are in a bind. He has office hours which he encourages you to attend for one on one help. Good guy, confusing class.

He is all over the place. Gave more online lecture than in-class lecture. He often misspells and makes up words. I'm an A student and I struggled terribly with this class. He's the only professor so you just have to deal with him.

Gilchrist is very scatter-brained. It is hard to follow his lectures. I never struggled in anatomy, but his class is another species. Gilchrist always waited to put online materials up the day before exams sometimes. Reading the book helped with his tests.I don't recommend Gilchrist, but it's a bullet you will have to bite for nursing school.

I didn't find his lectures unorganized or all over the place. Instead, he lectures at a rapid pace and rarely repeats himself to cover the necessary glut of info. My advice, attend class, record the lecture and write basic notes. Then, listen to recording and take DETAILED notes alongside ppt. Understand your notes = A. Use book as a reference.

Dr. G knows his stuff, however he is unorganized and he gives soooo much information that if you miss class you miss things HE WILL PUT ON TEST. Questions come more from what he says in class and not his notes. It isn't hard to pass his class with a very good great. Do everything he gives you and you can pull off an A

I did not use my book at all. The test were not easy and seemed to come from what he said more than anything in the notes or book. I recorded his lecures and listened to them again taking notes. He is helpful if you ask him a question in class, but do not expect him to respond to emails promptly. Very unorganized. Posts materials late!

Dr. Gilchrist's the best teacher hands down & fair too. Read material b4 class, do quizzes in a group & maximize the points. Seek help on project and max out points. Tests are hard but if you have quiz & project locked down & try hard in class you will still do well. Key-read text book or @least chapter summary, do chap questions and review answers
