Math051
She gives excessive homework plus web assign homework. She gives quizzes every class before beginning a lesson. She waste too much time going over quizzes and any homework questions. She makes math seem so difficult when they're easier methods to get it done. Overall I didn't like her teaching techniques.

I advise against this one unless you are willing to work extra hard for no real reason. Excessive homework, anywhere from 30-50 questions per class. Speed quizzes at the start of every class, 5 minutes to do questions that require a lot of time. A bit condescending. A nice teacher though, but she makes the class much, much harder than it should be.

Old school tough professor. She gives a LOT of H/W every day, which she collects every moring before a dayly quiz. Her explanations are very clear and she encourages students to ask questions. The material she taught was a little bit more advanced but it helps a lot if you are taking MAT206. Then it felt overwelming but I am very thankful now!

Do not take this lady class, unless ur really good at math and can get most of the work done yourself, other than that she is difficult to have as a professor for a whole semester. Her lessons arent clear and she focuses more on quizzes and homeworks smfh

She is good professor but teaches fast and spends too much in quizzes, homework and gives tons of homework that you do not have time for anything else. You need to go to Math Lab otherwise you do not pass it. She is now horrible but she is hard. You need to follow her if you want to pass We started 23 or more and we are 11 right now final next week

She prepared us for the final by giving us more challenging quizzes everyday and pushing us a little further than final exam preporation. When the day came to write the final I finished in 30 min and got an A. As long as you respect her she will do whatever it takes to help you pass. I'm well prepared for MAT206, half the curriculim has been taught

if you're a good student, you shouldn't listen to half of these comments on this website. she's a good professor and it's up to you to work hard outside of class to EARN your grade. some of you will be in for a rude awakening when you transfer to a 4 year college.

She's LAZY. She doesn't teach. she forces the students to learn by way of online h.w. assignments or the expensive yet useless textbook. she does everything too fast and will make you feel stupid if you dont understand. The only way anyone could pass this class is if they have no life, practice ON THEIR OWN 24/7 and happen to be her favorites. bad.

if you really want to learn math, this professor is for you. She is very strict, gives quizes every day, but in the end you will know this stuff...she is fair, and the classes are somehwat even fun, truly cares about her students. i would recommend her.

To the third comment below my, this professor has open door to certain students not all. her answer would be go to tutoring. Matter of fact she told one of the students to drop the class, she wasnt young but still was very bright. it was a waste of my time. she graded my scrap paper. who does that? I advise people to pick another professor.

real old school: speed-quizzing, HW checked daily, tests... I challenged the final grade, and on the spot she went over my grades/compared them with syllabus: it barely added up to B. I still feel like I deserved an A for all the effort I put. Word of advise: keep checking on how you're doing before the last date to get W. If C or worse, drop it.

i always had trouble with math before taking this class and hated it with a passion, but she is really disciplined (lot of hw and quiz everyday) so it forces you to practice. and what do you know? if you practice you will excel. i love math now thanks to her.

I had her and I know students who have her still. When I say that she is the worst its the truth. My former class with her is empty really empty. Its freaking unbelievable how everyone on this site praises her like she is the best math teacher around. Her friends are writing the good comments. Trust me take a night class if there is nothing left.

To all the morons that say don't listen to the negative comments on this page. First of all, if your taking math 051 don't speak its elementary math that's right elementary math so its easy. The mere fact that your in elementary math is because your slow.=] oh by the way for people taking real math trust me on this one find another teacher.=]

LOVED HER !!!! I'm working as an Actuary right now (started with 60K and hoping for a raise by Q3 2010) because of her mentoring and guidance 2 years ago. She helped me pick this path & I, who hated math before, will forever be greatful. Other prof "discuss" how not to be afraid of math; she drills u until you learn HOW to learn ON YOUR OWN.

Save your self the headache and find another teacher. So much homework it makes you hate math, her test are really and i mean really hard. Math majors should not have a problem with this class but if your not a math major find another teacher the work she gives she expects you to know already.Be careful, she smiles with you and fails you in the end

if you have weak math skills take someone else Its not great when all of her homework eats into your other classes her test are marathons you only have an hour to do it. 10 questions sounds simple with 4-5 parts to each question so its really 35 40 problems in an hour, and its ridiculously hard i know its college but believe me take another teacher
