ANTH1102
Great lecturer, fun class. However has stuff on the test that are not on his study guide which make it a little difficult to control your grade. Tends to go off on tangents but they are usually very interesting.

COLLINS IS OUT THERE. HIS CLASS DISCUSSIONS ARE ALWAYS VERY INTERESTING AND WILL OFTEN GET YOU TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. HE COMES OFF AS COCKY SOMETIMES ... MOST OF THE TIME.. BUT STILL THE GUY HAS BRAGGING RIGHTS. HIS CLASS IS NOT EASY. LOTS OF LONG ESSAYS, JOURNAL ENTRIES, AND FORUMS EVERY WEEK... TAKE IT ONLY IF U ARE COMMITTED.

Dr. Collins is a such a genuine and caring professor. He can come off as airy but don't let this overshadow his commitment to his students!

I took an architecture class with him last semester after taking an honor seminar he taught. A brilliant man, a renaissance man. He is everything posted here - a bit flaky, a bit out there - but because he lives in that world. He has an interdisciplinary PhD. That screams liberal arts. Passionate and knows what he's talking about.Highly recommend.

This guy is the reason why I decided to go back to college. He stimulates the mind and drives each student excel far beyond they ever thought possible. Nice to look at too. :~)

great passionate teacher!! he knows what hes teaching and willing enough to bring to class the new things he learns...comparitevely, from all my professors i love his teaching styles

Dr. Collins gets off topic- A LOT! And I have found that some of the things he teaches are out of date or sometimes completely wrong, misquoted etc. The tests were nothing like the study guide and though he is passionate about his classes I found them a dissappointment. If you come in already knowing something about the material then you will be ok

Dr. Collins is the best--focused, original, and detailed. Flaky??? I don't get it--he is anything but.

A genius, yet humble and hunmorous. Beautiful features, ladies! It is absoulutely fascinating to hear him--he is a great sepaker, and thinker, but he also has the experiences that make the class amazing. If you dont take him for class, you will miss th education of a lifetime.

He is an AWESOME prof! He's very passionate and knowledgeable. You'll learn a great amount about art from him. And, you'll appreciate art and also learn to love it. One of the best at OU!

As an Art History major, you don't have that many professors to chose from, but he definitely fulfills all of your expectations. Although he can be flaky at times, you tend to look past that because of his awesome lecturing skills. His research-style approach to this class really bothered me though because I love to hear him speak. Great guy...

Very attentive and caring. Definitely all about the Italian Renaissance but can teach you just about anything. Including the true purpose of the kama sutra. I didn't mean that in a dirty way. Really.

What a great guy! My favorite class and teacher by far this semester. His simple core class inspired me to change my major to Art History. Intelligent, helpful, nice, and inspiring professor. Dr. Collins's class has been my best experience here at Oglethorpe. Although a lot of studying is required, it is a very fair class. Take his core!!

This course is a mesmerizing dinergic journey into symbolism - taught by a personified Adonis/Hermes Trismigestus.
