Biosc 1070 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: A

I loved this class. There is a tremendous amount of information and the course is a lot of work. I would avoid taking this class with a heavy course load. Grading is generous but the class is competitive. I recommend listening to the lectures multiple times instead of spending a lot of time with the textbook.

Dr. Yates is both a fantastic professor and mentor. Not only was his class my favorite that I have taken, but it is also the one in which I learned the most. This is an absolute essential class to take for any Pre-Meds at Pitt, as it gives you a taste of Medical School level material, expectations, and competition. Get to know Dr. Yates!

Absolutely loved Dr. Yates. His material was so clear, and he provided lecture recordings, notes, powerpoints, etc. which was absolutely awesome. I would highly recommend this class. It is the best class I have taken at Pitt.

Nrosci 1070 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

By far, the most organized and prepared professor I've ever had. Throws in some humor during the lectures. A really hard class geared toward medical issues. Learned a ton. Don't buy the book--the lecture notes are more than enough. Class average is set to an A, but be prepared to work for that A regardless.

NROSC1070 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

This is the hardest class in the neuro major(including functional) but it's worth it. Teaches this like a med school class(a number of lectures are exactly what he gives med students). Come away with a whole new idea of anatomy which is invaluable. 60% is an A, he sets the class avg as an A cut off so you don't have to panic about grades either.

Go to class, study hard, and you will get good grades. His exams are tough; no basic memorization questions! You really have to apply the knowledge he presents in lectures. Posts lecture notes/powerpoints/voice recordings online. Very helpful. LOVED the class, though the time kind of sucks (M 8:30am, W 3:30pm, F 3:30pm)

BIOSC1070 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

I like the way the class is organized, focusing on diseases of the body. Should be a good preview for medical school. I also liked the problem solving learning. One of my favorite classes so far at PITT.

Yates knows his stuff. You better to by the time the test rolls along. Keep up with the lectures, they are all very in depth. The avg. is a 60 and he makes that an A. So easy to get an A as long as you work VERY HARD.

Dr. Yates is awesome and treats students with respect. His tests are a little hard, but there is a GENEROUS curve. Most of the students in this class thought they were hot****, and were pretty competetive...but welcome to med school. Anyone who is pre-med and extremely motivated will love this class
