*A* .The class wasn't easy, Ochem never is, but it wasn't unnecessarily hard either. Dr. Alemayehu is a good guy. He was kind enough to even move a midterm date back for us. We were busy, we all voted, and he accepted. The labs are also brand new, with fume hoods for each couple, really top notch. He's there during lab as well for questions. Best.

if you dont mind teaching yourself chemistry and waking up to attend a study hall its a great class but if your looking to learn, find another teacher.if you take this professor youve signed you've signed up for independent study.

He?s an okay teacher, the practice tests are sometimes useless because they aren?t like the test. Since it?s a lot of material, my advice is to study everyday especially with the math part of chemistry because you do see a lot of that in the tests and they are worth more points. Good luck!

He's a nice guy, but a terrible teacher. Don't take the class, unless you want to ruin your GPA. He will only confuse you and all your hard work and sleepless nights reading the book would not help. His lectures are useless. Exams are confusing, and have little to do with lecture or the book. Waste of time.

His speech may not be as clear, but I give him kudos for being very patient, knowledgeable and nice. I hated chemistry, so to get an A in a summer Chem class is such a huge accomplishment. He doesn't really make the exams difficult and he never gave us any surprise quiz. Although, his study guides could be off at times.

terrible teacher, dont take him unless you're really good at chemistry, if you struggle with this subject, take a better teacher, especially if you have to advance to Chemistry 101, he wont help at all,and he doesnt realize that he teaches so boring to the point that will make you lose interest, makes simple chemistry feel more difficult than it is

If I can get a passing grade in this class so can you. I never took chem in high school & just recently back in school after 30 years. Professor is straight forward and once you get use to his accent, not difficult to follow in lecture. Take good notes and come to class.
OChem1
Final exam is comprehensive and it came from the old test. He never assigned homework so you don't really need a book. Just use any ochem book you will be fine. He tests came from his lectures 100%. Take good note and if you have good back ground in chemistry, you should be able to get an A. He also gives 50 points extra credit for 4 pages essay

nice and kind; no lecture notes and bad hand writtings; accent is not bad but voice is low; 85% is A and it is possible if you read the book; test is heavy on reactions machanism; most of multiple choice questions are similar to practice tests provided prior to the exams. overall: recomended.

He is a very nice guy, means well, and curves quite a bit. I don't think he is particularly clear however, and his study guides are all over the place/confusing. If you work hard in this class you'll be fine.

I took Professor Alemayehu's 8 am Chem 60 class. He was often a little late, but so was half the class. His teaching style was ordinary. He graded fairly, and I earned an A. It wasn't easy, but most people don't consider chemistry as easy. He does NOT allow students to use cellphones in class, and asked my classmate to leave the room for doing so!

PLEASE do not consider taking this class w/this professor! You will DEFINITELY REGRET IT! This professor has no interest in seeing his students succeed. First, you can barely hear him even if you ask for him to speak up! Secondly, he was absent several times and put us behind schedule! He made our last test a week before the FINAL! Tests R UNFAIR!
ochem211
He's a pretty fair teacher, I had him for ochem1 and the class was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Partly because he bases his tests off his previous tests. Also, to understand the concepts you have to read the book! I don't understand people who don't read the book and they say its soooo hard. DUH.
Ochem1
Wow, some hilarious comments there. I think the guy has one of the best characters as a person but u gotta work like ur life depends on it to get a decent grade in his class. He's been teaching the same class for a while so he tends to go way too fast. Be in class, and most importantly go to his office hours! it saved my grade. he's reasonable and

i've never seen an instructor like him before. he is so energetic, enthusiastic and determined person which makes him exceptional.if u really wanna make a difference ,take him always.
ChemOrg
I have Mix-ed feeling about him. I only liked his labs. I felt like someone important in his lab. We made a crstal ball and saw the future in it in that lab. His lectures go 453 Mile per hour, with the windows down & the trunk open,a cop behind u with his sirens. & when u get pulled over is when u get your final grade. u Never Know What you'll get
OCHEM211
Good luck Understanding Him. He talks way to fast and the things you learn in Lecture doesn't help you one bit on his exams. Therefore it's a real mystery on how well your gonna do on his Tests. He gets his exams from God knows what Database. Lab's a Joke but you still have to be there. He's nice but to learn you gotta pay money for a tutor.
chem0500
Do not take him; he is the worst teacher among WLAC science teachers. He brings the exam questions from nowhere which is not related to his lecture. You’d better to listen up during the lecture because of his accent. He doesn’t have any passion about teaching, he just comes to class and teaches fast and nobody can catch his ugly writing on the boar
introchem
kind of hard at first I did not know a thing about chem. towards the end I finally got it he doesnt spell things out to you or show the corralation between problems if you study hope you will see these corralations it would easier if he would have pointed these thing out.more than fair a great grader just show up and you will pass
