She may not be the clearest on face value but she has a deep knowledge and passion for the material and will happily answer your questions. She is really nice if you display an interest. Frankly the people who gave her bad ratings just aren't working hard enough.

RELG340 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

A lovely prof! Class is only lecture, no discussion. Readings are assigned but I didn't read anything and still did well. Go to lecture, take good notes, and you'll do well. Exams were fair. Assignment guidelines were vague but the assignments themselves were not challenging. Maya is very helpful outside of class. Love her accent!

RElGall Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

She is wonderful! she is very invested in her students and loves to help, plus is extremely knowlegeable. The exams are based nearly purely on lectures and are always fair, easy even. Anyone who thinks shes too hard must've skipped a lot of classes. She is a gifted speaker who inspires intrest and makes even ancient history seem relevant.

Knows her stuff but could put more effort into teaching and encouraging class discussions, particularly different points of view on the material.

NEST310 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Maya really is wonderful. The first few classes may be a bit slow, as she likes to build a good foundation/create a context for the things to be learned later, especially in a class that explores complex and obscre subjects/themes. She is friendly, funny, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable...Recommended.

Don't listen to the haters! Honestly, she's great. Really genuinely cares about her students, wants them to do well. Will meet outside of office hours. Communication skills are odd at first but once you get used to her she's incredibly knowledgeable and really not difficult to understand. Also, great sense of humour. Recommended.

Very poor communicator, paper requirements are extremely vauge. Paper topic does not relate to class material, and is not educational. Parer requires the student to use knowledge of islam not taught or vaugely presented in lecture. The paper is essentially a lit analysis, and not a research paper. Horrible prof, please avoid her for your sake.

She lacks good communication skills. when she lectures she looks all around except giving eye contacts to students. Her grading criteria for the exam is absolutely not fair. She shouldn't be a prof.

Lectures were a little disorganized, but the material was very interesting. She seemed to know her stuff and was enthusiastic about it. She did have a strong accent, but I didn't have any trouble understanding her, and she was very nice as long as you seemed like you were paying attention and took the class seriously. Over all a good prof.

The worst lectures I've ever experianced. Expectations for papers are not clear, and more literary analysis finding elements of Islam than actual Islamic papers. She seems lazy based on the short and narrow paper req's. You do not get to explore the subject, and learn nothing from the lectures. Shouldnt be a prof, especially for Islam.
