HIST 143 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: B+

Pr. Tiro is a decent professor but does engage his students during his lectures. Initially I thought he was a good professor until I took Dr. O'Hara's history class which was great. If you prefer an interactive lecture I would not recommend Tiro as a professor. Tiro is also the head of the history department.

Quite a bit of reading, but the class is interesting and Dr. Trio is very fair with grading. He doesn't expect you to memorize exact dates and names, just get a good handle on the events and concepts. I recommend his class.

Dr. Tiro is an excellent professor. Yes, he expects you to do the work required to succeed, but that's life. I took him two years ago and I credit him with greatly affecting my drive and work ethic. Dr. Tiro's classes give you what you put into it, but how is it possible to succeed in life with out trying.Take Dr. Tiro, Speeelllz~

Great professor. Loved all of his classes, especially when it came time for the research paper. Extremely helpful - he would provide you a great list of books / places to start your research

Expects way to much of his students. Kind of a jerk know it all. 25 page research paper for his class. No one in my class really liked him. Kind of a know it all. I would recommend finding another teacher, and one without a 25 page research paper.

Tiro is awesome! I learned alot and I hate history. There is a TON of reading but i did almost none in 143 and managed a B -just take good notes because most of the test comes straight from class. Provides study guides for tests. Essays on test are hard to BS your way through tho so study! 3 tests, 2 papers- no midterm, finals is not cumulative :)

Professor Tiro is a hilarious little man. He assigns a LOT of reading, but I did little to none of it and did fine by taking detailed notes in his class. Bring a computer for notes, he lectures very quickly. Although attendance isn't mandatory, 25% of your grade is participation. His exams focus on big-picture concepts, not detailed dates/events.

HIST143 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

dude below was right, its mostly him talking. But he expects people to answer questions. kinda unclear on what he wants you to write about, but the exams were fairly easy to study for. Not my favorite hist teacher, but he's okay.

Cool guy. Just be sure to follow along in class cause he goes with the books pretty exact. Expect a lot independent reading.

He's great; so committed. I've learned more about US history from him than I ever learned in school before.
