I don't know what people are talking about. Prof. Pickens just reads off of his powerpoints and does not explain anything. He gives extra credit on his tests because people do so poorly on them. Would not take him.

The best professor I ever had, unfortunately I had several surgeries when I took A&P1 and was out a lot of the semester; but he was willing to work with me to catch me up. His PowerPoint slides are in very depth and explain EVERYTHING you need to know for the test! I'd recommend him to everyone!

Mr. Picken is awesome. Provides you all the information for every exam. He answers e-mails promptly and offers built-in extra credit on all of his exams. Lecture & lab exams are not difficult if you pay attention during class & study. 4 exams, 2 lab exams and 2 lab reports. Overall, great teacher and course!

A&P is a hard class but he is the easiest bio professor I ever had. Don't buy the book just memorize everything from his power points. Vocab flashcards mandatory & 2 written lab reports. only 2 absences allowed. Test are very straight forward and first 5 questions wrong aren't counted. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Professor Picken gives ten points of extra credit on every exam and lab practical. Lab reports and vocab adds points to your final grade. He is always there to help and answer questions. With a bit of studying it was an easy, EASY A. I still remember all of the information he taught me. Best person to take A+P with

Many people rave about this professor, so I took his class. I found him to be dry, reads off the overhead, NEVER cracked the book. LOTS of HW! DOES NOT CURVE.Take home test was very frustrating. Vocabulary words mandatory but counts against you if you don't do them. Not very helpful in lab either. Think twice if you take him. Very hard class.

Overall awesome semester, but the classes he teaches arent easy so you have to study!

He is very fair and definitely conveys that he cares about the subject and his students. I had him for A&P II which is not an easy course no matter who you take it requires studying. He gives extra credit towards every test and he is very understanding of unexpected life issues as long as u talk to him about it. He is great answering emails as well

TAKE HIM! the course is NOT easy. But he is very willing to go out of his way to help you understand. He wants his students to do well. He offers extra credit and is very helpful. His exams are fair but you really need to study his power points to do well. If you put in the effort and time theres no doubt you'll do well in this class.

Not the best, but not the worst. He has great lecture notes and a website that houses all his info you can accss anytime. These tools are the things that make you successful in this class.Prof is knowledgeable but often complicates topics by over explaining.Tests are tough with a combo of multi, crossword, short answer.Study resources, you'll be ok.

This was my second class with Professor Picken. He is one of the best professors. Very willing to help his students, offers opportunities for extra credit. Uses analogies to help student get a better understanding of materials. If you are committed and study hard you can do very well in this class.

Professor Pickens is a good guy, highly intelligent and knows his stuff. He is NOT the reason to take this class , it is his slides that make you do WELL. He can talk about a subject until you turn blue making things more complicated then they truly are. He is willing to help you but this class is not a breeze you need to take the time to do well.

He's a wonderful teacher and takes interest in what he teaches. His tests are challenging, but fun (mix of multiple choice, T/F, crossword, labeling of pics, and short essays). He doesn't curve, but provides opportunities for extra credit on tests. I highly recommend him if you really want to learn what's being taught. Definitely not boring.

Professor Picken is absolutely amazing. The material is not easy but he gives examples and analogies that you can actually understand. He actually cares about his students. He gives bonus questions prior to the exam, he allows test corrections and gives assignments to help boost up your grade. He does everything he can to help his students do well
