PHY2020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

One of the best professors I have had the opportunity to learn from while at APSU. He lays out the details in laymans terms that make learning very easy. He has lots of stories but if you pay attention, you will see how they relate to the material being taught. Great Professor!!!

PHYS 1020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Dr. Carpenter is an awesome professor! Your grade is based off 12 or so quizzes you take one every class period based on the lesson from the last class. He has his own grading scale and really helps all his students do well. Go to class, read the chapters and you should make an A! Highly recommend!

Great guy. Incredibly smart. Be prepared to study hours and hours on end and still do horrible on his tests. However, he grades by grade groupings and it is not uncommon to get a 50 on an exam and still get a high score. Extremely political! Borderline extremist. Never has grades ready before the next exams. I'd do it all over again though.

PHYS 1010 1020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Best professor I have ever had. Dr. Carpenter not only taught me physics, but about the world. Extremely intelligent, kind, interesting, relatable. He gets off topic but has fun. I enjoyed his class so much the first time, that I took him twice. You rarely get your grades back, but you'll never be subject to a better grading scale. 5 stars!

PHYS1020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

I took Dr. Carpenter for PHYS 1010/1011 and for PHYS 1020/1021. I loved his way of teaching. His has an amazing grading scale. I would recommend his class to all those that need to take a science requirement for their degree. If I needed more science level classes I would take him again.

Took a subject that is generally high concept and broke it down Barney style. Blew many of my preconceptions away with his ability to not just explain the concepts but make you understand the concept.

Phys1020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Dr. Carpenter took a subject that most people are terrified to even think about, put it into relatable terms, and gives very practical perspectives on how it is useful in understanding physics in its application to how the world works. He does also tend to help enlighten people to the importance of physics to the current political climate.

PHY2020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

He is a very nice guy and easy to talk to, but he was rarely on topic. Sometimes his examples are alot harder to understand than the book. He also got upset when the class time was running behind, and students wanted to take a break. Took him for a 6 hour class, and only got new material for the last hour or so. You need alot of patience!!

Dr. Capenter is a good teacher, however don't expect to come into class the following day after your test and get your grade. Its not going to happen, his grading period is on his time, not yours. I prefer his grade scale, because he gives you a grade based upon theory of Physics. Physics is a theory of math and science, and Carpenter agrees.

PSY1010 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Dr Carpenter always made class very interesting, and he always had a way of explaining things in a manner that everyone could understand. I would highly recommend conceptual physics to anyone who would like to expand their knowledge of physics but does not need to become an expert in this field.
