GER1001 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Comments on her negative attitude are unfounded. She has her own opinions, just as anyone else does and she will express them, but she doesn't do so in a derogatory fashion. She is very interested in her students' success and is very attached to the subject matter.

She is really a nice lady and a helpful teacher. I agree with other comments on this site, her classes have so much potential and she can be rude

Her classes have so much potential. Unfortunately she doesn't allow any disagreement with her opinions, and if you happen to be one to stand up for your thoughts, she will be openly rude and unprofessional about it. Those who like her tend to be submissive.

This is an excellent teacher and a very kind person who helped many, many students. Lunatics keep abusing this webpage in order to denigrate her and to discourage other students from taking her classes. This is a scandal. My fellow students and I are outraged about the abuse of this website. Stop the abuse. Stop the denigration of this teacher.

GER3900 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Prof. Colin's Spec Topics in European Studies provides an excellent overview of twentieth-century German literature, while lending special attention to turn-of-the-century cultural developments. She is a very commited, effective instructor and her knowledge of literary studies makes this course very worthwhile.

This class could probably be described as the last step leading to the underworld. It is honestly the most terrible experience I have ever had. I guess if you decide to take Colin, be sure to know that she is completely insane, and will probably find a way to ruin your experience in one way or another. I learned nothing.

GERSECT Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Class time is wasted watching movies. No time left for meaningful discussion. Leaves before the end of the semester making it impossible for students to complete coursework on time. Often late to class. Moody with the students. HORRIBLE class, although the material should have been very interesting.

Innovative and inspiring teacher who showed me and my friends how to challenge habitual modes of interpretation. She is internationally known as excellent scholar and teacher since she works not only at at Pitt. but also at the MMZ/Potsdam Univ. She taught and gave lectures at several other European academic institutions.

For Writing in German, she could not explain anything to the class. We would ask questions to understand, yet she could not explain. She did not teach. Do not take the class if she is teaching it. It is not worth your time.
