THE PEOPLE WHO POST THAT HE WAS A BAD PROFESSOR OBVIOUSLY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN CRIMINAL PROCEDURE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN HIS CLASSES AND WASTED HIS TIME. HE'S A LEGEND AND I HAVE ENJOYED TAKING EVERY ONE OF HIS CLASSES! TAKING CRIM PRO ADJUDICATION NOW

I took all I could from this Professor - CrimPro Adj, 456, Adv.Crim. He's not a pop star, but I am now a crim. defense lawyer and the bulk of what I know is from Professor Preiser. His class is fast paced, he is exacting in what he wants on exam, and the classes are hard. But once you've learned it, you can do it in court which is all that counts

I had him for 4, 5, 6 and Con. Law. It was an absolute nightmare. Avoid like the plague.

Professor covers ungodly amount of material and tests on most of it. Necessary to do all the reading and listen to every word he says. Expert in his field though, literally wrote the book, so it's well worth the trouble.

Covers everything that you need to know, and does so quickly. If you read the voluminous handouts, you'll probably do well on his very fair exams. Sometimes loses his train of thought and tells stories, but still more knowledgeable than most profs.

Preiser is tough naturally, but this class will teach you alot, if you do the work. The test is actually not that difficult, but that's because I took 456 first which was insane. Still, this class is absolutely necessary if you plan to practice criminal law, and know what you're doing.

I think that it might be time for him to retire. I lost count of how many times he said he had 3 points to make and only made 2. He doesn't call on anyone, which can be good and bad. With the voluminous reading and a killer exam, you'd better not have too many other exams lined up if you want to do well. I like his stories though.

Great teacher. You've really got to listen carefully during his class, there will be a lot of assigned reading and he will spent about 30 seoncds on each case, but he tells you exactly what you need to know. Pay attention, write down exactly what he says and you'll be golden. He tests mainly on case holdings and hypos he gives in class.

Advanced Crim Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Preiser treated this class very casually. The reading was abundant as usual, and we all thought he was going to give us a crazy exam like his other ones, but it really wasn't hard at all. He gives you a summary each week, and tests on the summaries. If you study them, you'll do fine and if you read the material and study the summaries, you'll ace i

Adv. Crim & 456 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Preiser is one of those professors you love to hate. If you have any interest in practicing crim law, then you MUST take his courses. He doesn't spoon feed you the material, in fact sometimes he doesn't feed you it at all, but you get out what you put in. the 456 was brutal and everyone thought they failed. Advanced crim law was easy.

Horrible class. Reading is insane, class is no help, asking questions leads to incoherent answers, test is impossible. Avoid at all cost.

Preiser doesn't teach - he tells stories about his glory days, mixed with a few partial sentences about the massive reading assignment. One of his fav stories is about how one day after class, he heard a student say she couldn't understand what he was talking about. He shrugged his shoulders and said, hey, they pay me to stand up here and talk.

Criminal law Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

You will listen to how he graduated from the top of his class at NYU and was the Commissioner for the prisonyards and dinned with judges and Governors...every-other-day. He takes no interest in his students whatsoever. He actually growls and says "WHAT!!" when you raise your hand to ask a Q. You'd think he was paying you to sit there and listen!

Con Law Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Ok, I will give the poet of the prison yard this, he is a smart man. However, smart men going senile and attempting to teach first years is bound for failure. He was unhelpful, and sometimes quite rude, to questions asked. Never again will I take a class with him. I only got an A in his class because I love Con Law, not because of his teaching.

The man presents the material and its effect thats it! If you want to be spoon-feed and pampered your whole life then drop out of lawschool and get a PHD. Do you know how bad the reading would be if he didn't reminisce about like on a vermont farm.

Con Law Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Oh Dear God!! Where to begin... I dont think a class could be any more boring. The reading is impossible to keep up with. His one thousand multiple choice questions on his tests are also impossible. Word to the wise: Take some NO-DOZE to stay awake for his class, and buy yourself some horn books to learn Con Law.

He sucks. I don't know how else to say it. The man is arrogant and cannot teach evidence. His exam should have asked questions about all the different jobs he ever had, or about his wonderful accomplishments b/c that's all i got out of the class. He likes to hear himself talk. he's incoherent, unconcerned with students' progress, and a **** pig.
