"Would take again" "Clear grading criteria" "Skip class? You won't pass."

Sclaroff is great at teaching this course and is easy to understand. This course covers topics from all across mathematics as well as computer science. It has been a really great course to take and I highly recommend it. Be aware the programming assignments are very difficult and you should be able to devote 15-20 hours a week to them.

Very tough class. Programs are a lot of work and should be started as soon as possible. The written HWs are tough and require lots of reading of the textbook and understanding of the notes, but don't count for much. Exams are hard and always seem to have one topic you forgot to study hard. Stan does a good job of teaching, though.

Great teacher. Clear explanation of concepts and the programming assignments are fun. Both the professor and TF are good looking.

A class taught well, by a professor who clearly cares. Mostly well organized, clear lectures and the assignments are fun.

He is a really nice guy with alot of enthusiasm and really cares about his students. Given that, I learned absolutly nothing in his class. Its pretty easy to get a good grade in his class regardless.

Sclaroff is an amazing and understanding person but horrible lecturer. He always makes time for questions after class though. Really I just read the book and didn't go to class. Assignments and quizes were extremely hard... very tricky. I felt a bit too advanced for an intro class. The curve helped though in the end. Learned alot.

This class was the hardest class ever. The materials taught were way too advanced for intro students, who knew nothing about JAVA programming. I went insane with all the programs. However, Sclaroff was the best prof. He gave extra time for the assignments and always willing to answer questions and help. Quizzes were tricky.

Exams are hard, just about the toughest multible choice I've ever seen...tests you on memorization of code, not understanding...His lectures are normally helpfull with coding assignments, but can be fairly complicated.

This class was definitely challenging, but the professor was very helpful and the lectures were clear. The class was graded on a curve, and so everything turned out OK in the end. I learned alot in this class.

Prof. Sclaroff's lectures are very boring and extremely complicated. Might as well just read the book and not go to class. Tests very hard and most people do very badly with class averages of 60 and below.

Prof. Sclaroff gives a very informative, organized lecture but his tests are TOO HARD and he's not especially NICE or PATIENT if you don't get it. He's got a cute tush, though.

This is my favorite professor so far at BU. He is American so he has perfect english (unlike all the other professors). His lectures are very interesting and he makes class fun.
