Dr. Hitchcock's teaches in a lecture style so speak up in class because he really wants to know your opinions. His grading technique is weird but if you have any questions hes very willing to help out! I suggest you go to class and meet with him to discuss papers before tunring them in. Read the assignments and speak up in class and youll be fine!

Dr. Hitchock's class is awesome. Do the reading, talk in class and it won't be so boring. Don't take his suggestions lightly and go see his office, it's pretty cool. Plus, he will really help you out with your writing. All in all, a great man and a great teacher. Very easy to get along with if you show up to class prepared.

Hitchcock was the worst professor I had in the English department, and I took no less than six English classes. I graduated in the top 5% of my class, and I still couldn't understand what this man was talking about half of the time. His comments on papers and exams were ridiculous and his assignments are way too long and boring. BOO!

Nice guy and an entertaining (mostly) selection of works. Likes students to come by his office for writing help. Gives a lot of borderline grades, but an A- is fairly easy if you're a strong writer. Requires a lot of reading, yes, but it is a literature class. When given the opportunity to participate in class, take it.

Dr. Hitchcock is totally awesome in every respect. However, you can't approach his class like most classes. He talks the whole time. Imagine you are listening to a speech by Mark Twain, and he will make you smile. His assignments are tough, and he will make you work hard. If you ever get bored, just watch his eyebrows. Trust me, they're insane.

He definately likes to lecture. However, when he does give the opportunity to talk, speak up, it will help you out. There is a WHOLE lot of reading, so do not get behind. Make sure to study the authors and dates for the tests, those are important. Also, try to take notes so that you will have them for each test; know the material!

Great professor. Class is very easy with simple written assignments and a reasonable amount of reading. Essay topics allow a lot of freedom in writing.

Hithcock is a boring teacher who likes only to hear himself speak. His grading scale is unrecognizable and he is amazingly picky with the 5 papers you write in this class. I wouldn't recommend him - if you don't do what he wants, you won't get even a B.

The class isn't that bad, but it is by no means fun. He has a very dry personality and seems to love to listen to himself speak. Weird grading scheme. He does seem like a nice person though.

It was hard because of the amount of reading and journals. Try and keep up with the journal entries and paper revisions so they don't sneak up on you the day before they are due. Speak up in class because he likes opinions.

He is very vague in his assignments and often grades lower if he doesn't like the topic you select. Also, he is fairly prejudiced against certain people. Never arrive late, he will hate you after that.

I like him alot. He has been very helpful to me. Although he is very vague, but his tests arent that hard. Just make sure you know all the material. You must read. He gives quizzes alot, and attendance is required. He can be strict on attendance.

He's a very nice man, but was a little vague on what he was teaching us. Our theme (nature literature) was very dry and boring, and he didn't really do much to liven it up for us. Very willing to help, though.
