Bisc 1000 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: B

This review is for his dean seminar in Biotechnology. Morris is a funny guy and really knows the field we study. Most work is done in class, but there are homework assignments and they can be lengthy and require a lot of time. If you are not a science major, this course will be harder. But if you can muster it, Morris does not disappoint.

Take his classes! He is a hilarious, kind, and intelligent professor. Sometimes I think he's a walking encyclopedia. Work hard, and you'll get a good grade. He wrote our class letters of recommendation to our surprise! He's really the best professor at our university.

I miss Morris! He is really chill and his sarcasm/British humor always makes me laugh. PS-he's hard to get hold of though sometimes. Microbio & cell bio require research, nothing too intense Biotech-easy A. I have received either A or A- in all classes and I didn't have to give up a limb to do that...just work hard a few days before assignments

Morris is absolutely amazing! He has a dry sense of humor that is hilarious and makes learning biology bearable. I took micro, cell bio, and biotech with him and he's hands down the best bio professor at GW.

BISC2202 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Morris is a hilarious guy and if you have at least some interest in learning he will help you a lot. If you listen carefully he makes really funny jokes in class. Yes you have to do research but all the answers are right there, you just have to find them. Highly recommended.

Amazing professor. WID Class is based on a critique, 2 self directed research projects, and a critical review. No in class exams. Dr. Morris will guide u through the projects and let's you revise papers, your grade will be the avg of the first and second paper. Takes effort into account. Overall, awesome prof, one of my fave in bio dept

If you want an almost guaranteed A, take this class. Our grade was based on two papers/presentations, a lab report, and going to lecture/labs. He lets you do rough drafts of papers and is a really easy grader. Don't need to take notes. He took us to chinatown for a free meal after going to a science museum, which was really nice. If you are not a science major and need to take a science class, I would definitely take biotechnology.

Dr. Morris is one of the best biology teachers at GW. He says THAT EVERYONE WILL GET EITHER AN A- OR A. Yes you do have to do a fair amount of work, but this is college, get over it. I have taken 10 credits with him (2 WIDS) all A's. He also loves writing you recommendations. You never need to take notes, since the entire class is based on research

He's the most fair grader I've ever seen. He takes everything into consideration, including attendence, interest level, prior knowledge, background knowledge, participation, and the amount of work you put into the course. He is knowledgeable and funny and lets you redo papers until you get an A!

Do not be fooled! This is not an easy class! All take home, sure, but extremely challenging. Morris isn't helpful bc he wants YOU to do the work. Know how to look up and interpret journals or you will fail.

BISC102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

This is not a laboratory class, but all of the exams require you to design experiments or interpret experimental data. I am not a bio major; I don't already know experimental techniques. No guidance from Morris, and nothing relevant learned in class. Very bitter man, spends a lot of class complaining about GW instead of teaching.

DEAN'S SEMINAR: His Dean's Seminar on Biotechnology was AMAZING. There is minimal hw: 2-3 papers, 1 group paper, and a few small things ALL SEMESTER (basically NOTHING). But somehow, I still learned SO much in this class. He is also REALLY funny if you are sure to pay attention to him (lectures can get a LITTLE dry, but he tries to make it fun).

This goes for BISC137 as well. Dr. Morris is a saint, and I mean an absolute saint. You will know what I mean after you take his class. Although the exams are not easy, they are all take-home. They will really sharpen your analytical skills and really improve your writing. Plus, Dr. Morris has such a wonderful, warm, and funny sense of humor!

Very good professor. The tests are take home and this aids actual learning rather than memorization. The tests require a lot of time but once you figure out what the Professor is looking for in your answers you are bound to get an A.

By far my favorite professor at GW! He made lots of funny jokes during lecture (ex: "I could climb up on this table and show you how the bacteria crawl but I would probably be arrested for obscenity!") and lab was so fun. You still learn A LOT, and by the end of the class you will be able to write professional lab reports. Helps on the MCAT.

great professor overall. his exams are tough, but attend class and take good notes. he pretty much tells u hints to get u on track for the take home exams. his exams are a lot of work but its not impossible to get an A, just work really hard and ur effort will reflect ur grade.

Not a fun class. Nothing you learn in class helps on his take home exams but attendance is mandatory. Tough grader. Time consuming. Would never take him again. Very boring. Gives poor notes.

Great class, all exams are take home, and you get the chance to re-do some of the essays. Labs weren't really graded, so it was a lot more fun doing them.
