Dr. Maricich is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He really, really knows his subject and is able to help students understand the material because he's truly an expert. The quizzes help you stay on track and he's happy to help during office hours. Nice attitude, good stories about how what you're learning is applied to everyday life. A winner

If you have any specter of intelligence you will enjoy this class. If you're just looking to get a grade to check off Chem off your list, you'll probably not be happy with the tests and quizzes which really help you learn the subject. Overall, a nice guy who really cares about his students.

I took his chem 320B. In general, this class concentrates mostly on equations/reactions. His tests are straight forward and easy. He's eager to help students, too. I suggest that you make flash cards of all the equations in the chapters and study them over and over and over again. Then, do all the home works. You'll get A ! It's that easy.

His lectures are quite boring, and he is ok in helping you during office hours. Tests and quizes are fair. He usually take questions straight out from the hw assignments, so doing all of them is a smart idea. Overall he is not the best, but also not the worst in teaching ochem.

lectures are only worth going to since he has quizes in there often. other then that i didnt learn anything from him, everything i learned was because i taught it myself. he is very unfair in assignments and tests. this guy is hard to study for. you can pass the class, but take another professor for ochem part II PERIOD.

2nd half of semester he was very unclear. Had to learn everything from the book and tuitoring. He pretends to be nice, when I asked for help on his take home quizes he would never answer any of my questions. He gets off on tangents when he lectures. You MUST read ahead, he only goes over hard points and expects you to come in knowing the basics.

hes ok. a lot of people think hes really nice and but to be honest he can get crabby like the old man he is. his tests are alright and he has quick quizzes almost every class period on stuff thats ahead of the lecture to see if your reading ahead. boring lecture and i didnt really learn much from them. about 80% of what i learned was from reading.

O-Chem is a difficult class, but Maricich does a good job of teaching it. The old exams are incredibly helpful and he tries to make sure that everyone understands what is going on with the material.

This is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He did not explain reactions very well. Most of my class ended up getting tutoring and the tutors said most of their students were from his class. Incompetent.

A great teacher. The class is super hard, but he makes it as easy as possible. Very clear. You just have to put in the time. And if you go to him he will do what ever it takes to help, he's one hell of a nice guy.
