He subbed for a couple weeks in my class. Belittled the students and previous teacher. Has ridiculous multiple choice questions. Tries to show off his knowledge of A&P instead of teach and make sure we understand. Total joke

Ed is amazing with a love of A&P. His followers are VERY true to him and I recommend him to anyone I can. I have taken the entire series from him and this term I have really missed Ed! Yes, he is difficult; however, he WILL prepare you for any health field you are going into. If you are taking A&P at PCC or PSU, TAKE IT FROM ED. I promise.

Ed is a great teacher. Comes across as a jerk sometimes in class, but very helpful in person. Cares about the students and their success. Teaches from powerpoint. Tests are VERY difficult. Makes recordings of his lectures available (if you buy the subscription service with the text). Study harder for this class than you've ever studied before.

My experience was DeGrauw makes learning A&P harder than it has to be. Not enough attention to basic structure & function. Way too much focus on MICRObiology and PATHOphysiology. I earned an A only by relying on the text (which DeG discourages use of) and a good Lab Instructor (Richardson). Enthusiastic, but NOT recommended.

Ed is an excellent professor. He gives examples that are relevant & makes jokes to help you remember things. He is willing to repeat things until you understand it. If you utilize his help, he goes above & beyond to help you to do the best you can do in his course. His tests only cover what he covers in lecture so use the book as a reference.

Ed always takes time to answer questions and has an obvious love of his subject. makes himself available out of class and doesnt make you feel dumb when you are unable to grasp a concept. This class is no joke in workload: STUDY! tests are practice critical thinking tests; be prepared to think rather than spit up facts. grades on curve

Ed is great. One of the best instructors I have ever had (I have multiple undergrad & grad degrees). He really cares about his students and wants you to succeed, which is why his tests are so hard. He really tries to prepare students for success in their future programs. Listen to his lectures, use the ppts, and talk to him and you can succeed.

Ed's class is difficult. No doubt about it. However, this class prepared me for grad school more than any other undergrad class I took, based on expectations and testing style/methodology. If you are struggling - the best thing you can do is go talk with him directly.

Ed is awesome! He is brilliant, funny, encouraging, and motivating. His tests are a work of art, and his grading system allows you to not do great on tests but to learn what you missed by redoing them for a few extra points. He isn't for everyone, i.e. lazy people who just want an A. He'll make you work for it but in the end you're smarter for it.

Ed is awesome. His class is very hard but if you study getting an A is possible. He has all of his lecture slides along with recordings online for your individual class. You will also never have to read the book. He also makes lecture really funny/interesting by telling stories.Ed may not be the easier teacher but he is the best.Dont take anyone else

Taking Ed's class was torture. The entire term is a struggle. In fact, the entire series of anatomy with Degrauw is just completely and ridiculously terrible. His class is a horrible experience. He expects too much and his exams are too difficult. Ed is rude and egotistical and it is extremely difficult to get an A. This class will lower your GPA.

Ed really wants you to get an A, offers 4% extra credit, and is available for office hours. He also records lectures. His powerpoints are not concise or organized with lots of repeated + outdated info. If he edited his slides to go with his presentation instead of regurgitating the same spiel then he would be a much more effective lecturer.

This professor is nice and funny enough, but he seems to be a narcissist who spends a lot of time stroking his ego. Love him or hate him for it, he writes his exams so that the class average is about 65% before the curve. I agree with the commenter who said Dr. D likes to use confusing questions. Choose him if you enjoy that kind of thing.

A&P is difficult from any teacher based on the sheer amount of material. Ed is excellent at tying the material into real word examples that everyone can relate to and makes it VERY interesting. He's a great prof. I listen to the recordings and easily get a 90% on tests(with curve) Book is helpful but not necessary.Lab before lecture is helpful too.

This teacher is really fun! I don't want to discourage people from taking his class but you really need to realize just how much work he expects from you. I HIGHLY recommend studying for your tests the first day of class. He is very funny and has great stories as well.

He is fun to TRY to learn from... But he is more impressed with his own knowledge than trying to teach others. His tests are purposefully too hard for you to get a passing grade without the curve. This seems like more of an ego boost for him than a learning experience.

The good: grades on a curve, gives lots of extra credit. The bad: tests are CRAZY hard. Guy's also obsessed with chemistry (chem not required to take A and P) so it's hard to follow if no chem background. If you have to take him, record all lectures, go over everything several times, and study like crazy. A's are hard to get, but within reach.

His examples usually help to accentuate a point from his lecture, but make sure not to get lost in the small details, make sure you understand the big picture and how everything fits together. Also, I highly, highly recommend going to any of the AM review sessions as possible. THey are at 6 am, be there if you want an A!

Best prof I've ever had by far. His tests will definitely stretch you, but it's worth it. If you're pre-nursing, pre-med, etc... then TAKE ED. He will prepare you for your programs and will spend lots of time with you if you have questions about nursing/medical schools around the country. Very knowledgable.

He grades on a curve which is a major help because his tests are super hard. Average for one of our exams is generally 30/50 if this gives you an idea on how the tests go.
