"Get ready to read"

The material for the class was interesting, and she's a fairly easy marker, but I left each class extremely frustrated. She speaks over students after randomly calling upon them, rambles on about ridiculous topics, and blames students if their responses to opinion questions aren't duplicates of her own opinion. Take 111 with another prof.

I don't understand most of the comments on here... She is an amazing professor who is very knowledgable in her field, but more importantly is incredibly passionate about it, which you can tell through her story-telling. The class really isn't hard if you actually go to class and read your text book... like any University student is supposed to do

Simply wonderful story-teller. She will interest you in her field, no doubt. Worth taking regardless of your intentions with Anthropology. Marks fairly. Is very open to discuss off-topic but typically brings it right back. Good sense of humour. Exciting class!

You really had to attend the lectures if you wanted to do well in this class. She does know what she is talking about, but her notes can be confusing sometimes. She tests a lot on the stories she tells in class, but if you go you should do well. Also she has quizzes that can really boost your mark!

Enthusiastic prof. Loves to encourage class discussion and learn about each student. Her slides are quick and all over the place, but even if you don't get the info it's always in the book. Exams are heavy on the textbook and what is discussed in class. You can do exceptionally if you attend class and read the textbook thoroughly.

I wish people would stop complaining about her! Ii found her to be really intersting and helpful. Yes she does put people on the spot but she's not mean if they get something wrong. Her notes aren't the best but her quizzes are easy and if you read the textbook and take notes from what she says in the lectures you WILL get an A!

Stop complaining about Brenda, she is very knowledgeable in her field. People..stop whining about no easy A, you HAVE to go to the lectures. She is easily approachable and accommodating to individual needs. She doesn't give good notes. Read the textbook and keep up and she elaborates in class. Not hard at all, but you actually have to try.

I really enjoy this prof as a person. Her lectures are always interesting, and she obviously has a vast knowledge and love of the subject. However, I did not find this class as easy as I thought I would. Her questions are very specific, and rely heavily on local topics not covered in the text. Also uses a lot of video in lectures.

Very boring prof, lectures were completely random. Notes were absolutely useless, she is also overly aggressive in making sure you right down the name of pointless books she wants you to read.

Brenda is incredibly knowledgeable in her field of work. Although I do agree she was a bit hard to follow, she got to the main points of an introductory anthropology class. If you went to class, made an effort the class was great, a good thing to do with her is do in depth research of the information she gives you. The topics were fascinating

If you are generally interested in anthropology, you will be able to tolerate the class. You have to go to all her classes because she takes random questions from topics she briefly touched on and puts them on her exams. You feel stupid if you ask questions and the class runs pretty slowly on most days. You have to work hard to get a high mark.

The class is interesting but she made it very hard to get a good grade. She tends to put a lot of questions from her random rants in her lectures. Her notes are useless and her lectures are very unorganized. If you want this class for grades don't take it from her; however, if your taking it for interest do take it from her.

The most boring class I've ever taken. I didn't show up for a class for 2/3 of the year and still got a good mark. Everything is right out of the text book. I would definitely recommend avoiding Brenda if at all possible.

Professor Zeman is one of those professors whom you either love or hate; very opinionated! A lot of class discussions. Slideshows and content of a majority of the class were straight from the textbook. The additional course materials were good supplements that she went over thoroughly. If you do your readings, you will ace the midterm and final.

Tends to forget she's teaching a university class and not high school. She's very interested in anthropology and that shows, but it's impossible to know what her expectations are for the class. Read the textbook and you're good to go for the exams. Puts people on the spot and it is really hard to see the flow from one class to the next.

Her class was very easy, only marks were 40% for midterm (multiple choice) and 60% for final (multiple choice). She also gave us 5 pop quizzes for bonus marks, Just go to class, and you don't really even need to because her notes are straight from the textbook. Like others said, she does put people on the spot.
