If you are into whatever he is teaching you will absorb the material like a sponge. If not, don't dare click on his classes. He uses advanced terminology even in his 100 level lectures but after the first lecture or so you should be able to catch on. Because of this professor I declared this subject as my major.

Best Class/Professor I've ever had. This is my only RateMyP review that I want to do. He is a funny and powerful storyteller, where as this material may be boring to some(law and Morality), he makes you want to know.

To be forthright, I thought I had gotten an A. But while I was slightly disappointed with my grade, Professor Ross' class was a joy to take. He's enthusiastic, brilliant, and just a great teacher. He types notes for the class so we can participate fully in class. I guess you should study a little more than I did for the final.

Not only is he one of the best professors ever to exist in this universe...but he is also one of the best human beings to know. Highly brilliant, compassionate, clear, and outright helpful in every way possible. You will leave a better person being exposed to this wonderful man.

Professor Ross likes teaching, and it shows. He's interesting, clear, persuasive, and passionate. He is one of the best professors I have ever had. People say it's great attendance isn't mandatory, but you're going to want to go to class.

Amazing! Exquisite professor, loved him. Very passionate about philosophy and also very helpful and understanding. One of the best professors I've come across at hunter and defiantly recommend him. The material can be a bit confusing but he explains it very well. Overall, loved this professor!

PHILO244 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

He can be really funny and he is very passionate about philosophy. Participation is not required. Attendance is also not mandatory; I barely went after the midterm. There's a midterm and final. Just read the review sheets though and you'll pass. Trust me. I loved his teaching style but I hate philosophy so my interest was at a 0.

philo244 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

He can be really funny and he understands what he is talking about. He loves questions, although participation is not required. Attendance is also not mandatory; I barely went to class. He grades only midterm and final. He also sends very helpful word documents on each author as well as the arguments for or against those theories: very helpful.

He is an awesome professor! Attendance is not mandatory and neither is participation. This was a lecture class mostly, although he does allow questions and some discussion. He is very knowledgeable and just really awesome. TAKE HIM!

Philo366 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

He is definitely one of the best professors at Hunter, very passionate about philosophy & HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. The readings are difficult but he does a superb job of explaining the ideas. Be sure the read everything, from the book to his notes. This class would have been horrible in the hands of a lesser professor. He is also very nice & eccentric!

he is a good teacher but super BORING!!!!!! the book is even more boring and even confusing. Best bet go to class cause he explains everything in plain english. Theres a midterm and final. They were both okay just make sure you know everything cause he switches up the questions a bit. besides that if you have to take if for ur GER be brave n do it.

One of the best professors at Hunter College IMO. Insanely smart on all the subjects, funny, entertaining, nice, etc etc. If you don't come to class I imagine the tests would be hard because a lot of the stuff you have to know about the subjects are hard to figure out from the texts themselves.

I took this professor many years ago. The key for his class is to use a tape recorder and write down word by word his definisions. If you do all that you do NOT need the book. His Midterms and finals were exactly from his teaching. If you follow that you get an A+ like i did. Amazing pro, wish i had him in other classes.

philo101 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

The material was too hard and he just talked too fast. I wouldn't recommend him if philosophy is not your thing because an A is just too hard to get. I took 5 classes and got A+ in all except this class, I got an A- and boy did I have to work for it, I wrote 18 pgs for the final, that's 2 booklets!
