Highly recommend this teacher. He is very educated and he knows how to teach. He is a fair grader and his exams are fair. Fair, not easy. Make sure to come to class since everything you will learn in class is from the notes. Exams are also based on notes. The book is useless, save some money.

Dr. Ojala is super organized in class. The lecture covers all materials you need to know, so you need to take good notes. Labs are equally important, make sure you have written down the cores. Highly recommend!

I had Prof Ojala 5 years ago& have not experienced a more engaging, enthusiastic chem teacher anywhere else. I left the area& took chem in other cc's but they were lackluster in prof help and zeal. Chem classes are no joke & I am forever grateful for Ojala's integrity in teaching & highlighting the wonderment & attainment of chemistry concepts.

For how much he's raved about on here, his class was sorely disappointing. I went for help a couple times and he acted like I was bothering him. Not a terrible prof, but definitely sub-average. Word to the wise, don't ever ask him about mistakes he makes correcting exams; he'll never admit they were his fault.

you should give Ojala a break seriously just because he is quiet doesnt mean he doesnt want to help or he is judging.i really think that this is the funniest thing i ever heard.prespective students should know that Ojala is always there for help whether in class,lab or his office. just to let you know i got an A in both organic 1 and 2.

He is the best and extremely helpful i dont understand why some are saying he will embarrass you if you go to his office! did you actually ask the question after trying to figure out, or you just went there and dropped a stupid question? Exams and homeworks need some effort I know it's but it's all worth it.

Amazingly charismatic! Lectures are laid out in a very organized fashion and if you take good notes, you can easily get an A or B because tests come straight from lectures and labs. He always encourages students to ask questions in class or out of it and genuinely cares about our learning!

Mr. Ojala is a good lecturer. He's very clear and explains concepts well. Although, his teaching methods are fine, he's a little smug and has an attitude problem. If you bother going to his office hours for help, he makes you feel inadequate and stupid. The ppl on here that say he's nice obviously have never either bothered to ask him for help!!!

Very few professors have both the dedication and ability to teach as well as Ojala. He went above and beyond to make sure subjects were understood. He greatly encourages questions and explains things with the utmost clarity. I would highly recommend him to anyone planning on taking organic chemistry. Best professor I've seen at Normandale.

Chuck was very helpful. Gave great examples in class. Study his notes and you will do fine. Test are were fairly simple as well as the labs. He was a very fair grader.

I had him for both 2061 and 2062. He is the best teacher i've ever had. Take oraganic with him, dont miss a lecture and you are granted to get the best grade(A).

Excellent teacher! Excellent lectures, organized and to the point, possibly the best I've had. He makes organic chemistry easy to understand. Always encourages questions. Make sure to go to every lecture, nearly all of the tests are based off these. Pay attention in lab as well, He always sneaks in a lab technique or procedure on the exam.

Had him for both 2061/2062. Lectures in class and lab are very important. If you listen and take good notes, the class is pretty easy. He has a sneaky way of wording questions on exams. He is always there to answer question's and encourages them. He is an excellent teacher and is great at explaining the subject!!!!!

He is awesome at explaining organic chemistry in his lectures, VERY CLEAR! I didn't like his attitude. It just felt like he judges people by their backgrounds or race, rather than who they really are. Can be kind of sneaky, in a way. Don't bother going to his office for explanations; he'll just make you feel embarressed for asking.

He is a very bright man. Everything in his class is very clear, study from the notes given in class and you can ace the test. He rewords his test to make them very difficult. Expect him to change his tests. Dont let up in this class its hard up until the end. Be ready for any questions on his exams!
