He is a good professor, but he teaches too fast. His midterms and final are also difficult. Yes,whenever he uses symbols on the exams that were not used in class, he explains what they mean on the exam days. However, it's quite unfair to do that because that could throw the students off. Compared to the homework & midterms, the final was tough.

He is the best professor I took this quarter. Take him if you could. Test materials are all on the lecture notes. Very straight forward. I like his teaching style a lot.

The concepts are very difficult to grasp. He is very good at explaining the concepts, but the class is still very hard.

Fantastic professor. You can learn everything just by listening to whatever he says in lectures, so reading the book is totally optional. Exams are hard but representative to the lecture materials.

At first, I thought he was the most stuck-up, strict egotist in the entire department. Nine weeks with him and I've never had a better math prof. The passion with which he teaches is hard to ignore, and it compels students to want to work harder for themselves. Even though I may not get an A in the course, still liked it a lot.

AMAZING PROFESSOR, he wasn't even my offical professor, I had a horrible professor, so i would wake up at 8am just to show up to his lectures, so I can't speak for his midterms and final. But I will say after EACH lecture I NEVER had to look at the book to clarify anything. He is a model for math teachers.

Fantastic lecturer, you really walk away knowing more than you did going in. Engaging and incredibly clear. Displays mastery of the information. Difficult tests. You have to rely on the curve. Weekly homework is graded, turned-in in dropbox, discussions not mandatory. ta's not allowed to do hw problems during disc. He is arrogant but backs it up.

He's very clear and understandable in his lectures, even though he does have a slight accent. He truly cares about his students and what he is teaching. His tests are hard, but manageable. Take him! He's really good at what he does.

very great lecturer! you will probably understand the concepts during lecture.however, his midterms are really hard! online practice midterms, review sessions, and homework problems are not the same as his tests. he expects you to use your creativity and work really really really really hard for an A.

He explain material in a clear fashion and easy to understand but his test is really hard. If you really are not those math genius who play around with mathematics all the time, better not to take him.

His lectures are pretty clear for the most part. He's a very enthusiastic and interesting lecturer. Be sure to study the practice exams very well and do the assigned HW problems. Real exams are really similar to practice exams (75% the same), but he tweaks it a bit to make it harder. Tests are hard but fair. Section and office hours are helpful.

He has a lot of positive reviews, but I didn't like him. He spent about half of the final exam review session on some stupidly hard question, then told us stuff like that wouldn't be on the final because we would all fail. Why waste our time during finals week then?

Awesome lecturer - very enthusiastic, clear, and occasionally funny. Most brilliant person I've ever met. His practice exams are VERY similar to the real ones, but the real ones somehow remain difficult. You'll have to work hard, but being around this professor for a quarter is worth it.

good prof- enthusiastic about math. willing to help. (I encourage you to always go to office hours even if you dont have a question), section is pointless. not the easiest class but his exams are predictable and there is a curve at the end of the class, should do well if you go to lecture and do the hw and practice exams

Very good professor. He explained everything very clearly. Although his tests were always hard, he was always willing to help. He also had old tests online to study from, so you knew what to expect. I learned a lot, and I'm much more interested in mathematics than I was before this class.
