Excellent. He teaches at community college for the diversity in backgrounds of the students, but could easily teach at Harvard, Yale, or any ivy league.

he has helped me so much beyond the class. he is very encouraging and i could tell how much he cares. this was not an easy class for me because it is so subjective, but also that he goes far beyond the textbook. you need to put in time and effort. understand everything to the best of your ability before a test. if you show him effort, he will help.

Take a course with him and you won't regret it. He has a vast knowledge that he spins into his lectures along with real life experience. A very wise man and a great way to end my tenure at CCAC.

His tests were based on everything that he rambled on about in class. extremely boring. if your attendence was good then your grade was ok. if youre interested in philosophy then your grade was awesome.

Awesome professor. I came in with 0 understanding of the subject matter, and he opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking. If you're not a decent writer, his tests can be hard, but for me that's what got me through the class. Even if you don't understand, if you can explain well he appreciates it. Super smart. His excitement is contagious!

fall 2008 Simply the most analytical, thought provoking instructor in the city! I've had graduate professors without as much ability to teach. Thank you Dr. Eskridge for sharing Bertrand Russell with me! I strive everyday NOT to be "instinctive" :)

TAKE NOTES the ENTIRE time. come to class clear-minded and pay attention. His test are pretty tough and his grading is even tougher, but he is a really nice& funny guy. I would take him again. Hes misunderstood- He doesnt mean to make people feel stupid for not understanding. he just gets SO into it all that he wants you to FULLY understand it.

He really knows his stuff, too bad his ego knows it too. His test questions are inconstent with his "self-indulgent, I love to hear myself talk" lectures. His grades are subjective and based on how well he likes you, no matter how good or bad your work is. Beware knowing him on a personal level.

If you are a working person who reads the lessons and pays attention to the class lecture and wish to receive a decent grade DO NOT take this class. The professor also takes pride in being rude and insulting to his students that have a different opinion or misunderstand his lessons.

Prof. Eskridge has a great understanding of his field. He is able to recall a very large amount of information for use in class. The only downside is that the material can be daunting for those who are uninterested in philosophy. However, he is more than helpful in making sure that people understand what is going on.

Prof. Eskridge's class was amazing. He took a subject I had mild interest in and made it fascinating. If you take his class, show up. Exams are based almost solely on lecture. Pay attention, take good notes and you'll be fine.

Mr. Eskridge is a great teacher! I was lucky enough to get in my first semester of college him as a Philosophy teacher. His class wasn't terribly hard but hard enough to know that you are actually learning something and not just floating through the class. I would suggest him to anyone that is willing to take notes and wants to learn.

Very intelligent. Lectures are not hard to follow, but he says so much, you might want to bring a tape recorder. Refers to himself as "the crazy brown lunatic in the philosophy dept." and he is crazy in a fun way. Very engaging, very approachable. Final was hard, esp. since we could not use notecards. Definately worth taking, but you have to study!

An okay prof... A little on the crazy side. Seems to mix our class up with the other PHL111 class and asks questions on exams that he went over with them but not us. Talks very fast and was kind of rude to the interpreter for a deaf girl in the class.

Puts questions on exams pertaining to subjects he did not discuss in class. He's very enthusiastic about what he teaches, however, his lectures are disorganized. He jumps around from topic to topic so it can be difficult to take notes.

Prof. Eskridge is incredibly dramatic and entertaining. I guarantee that you'll never have a boring class; however, I struggled with his essay exams! He gives four essay exams, but allows note cards for three of the exams. He jumps around topics randomly & goes on wild, animated tangents. He's strongly flavored, so you'll either love or hate him.
