Amazing class and teacher! One of the only classes where I actually obtained information and can still recite it back 6 months later. The class has such an interesting subject and his methods of teacher are wonderful. He requires you to read Ishmael, an amazing and life changing book. Once you have this class, you will NEVER look at life the same.

Incredible teacher. Not only is he very captivating, but he is not an aggressive environmentalist. DO NOT be afraid of that before taking the class. I think most of what you learn is what the class inspires you to learn about yourself. This is one of those rare classes that changes lives. It should be mandatory.

I really enjoyed this class. It gives you a mild in-depth view of today's environmental issues. He is a professor that knows he stuff. You don't take any tests but weekly group quizzes. As well, you right 2 page journals (double spaced)on articles from a packet. Overall this class is easy and very informative of the issues of the world around us.

He wants to turn environmentalism into a quasi-religion. He's very opinionated. On controversial issues he will only display his side. I expected a sober look at possible solutions to enviro problems. However, there is almost none of that. It is mostly marginal enviro issues used as justification for his own set of ethics.

this guys knows his stuff. really learned alot from the class. make sure you get in a good group because most of the work is group work. Keep up on the Ishmael reading.

Dr. Mark gave me more help, more time, and a better boost to my career (such as it is) than the rest of the WHOLE COLLEGE COMBINED. If you want to, as he says, "seize control of your education"-- then get on the Dr. Mark train. Feel the love, for cryin out loud.

He is a great teacher and he cares about what he is teaching. He assigned a lot of reading and he knew it. It is good material. The best part was he told us he assigned to much and he assigns it in oder of importance so if your swamped one day he understands he issues too much. overall, great teacher, great class and good guy

Dr. Mark's class was one of the best classes that I have taken in my academic career. He is a inspirational teacher who cares about his job and his students. After taking his class I feel much more knowledgeable and confident.

Don't take his classes if you have a working knowledge of the enviroment. He is a creepy guy who teaches as if we are living in the 60's. If you want to get a job locally that involves the environment do not mention that you studied under Mark.He is a JOKE in the professional environmental community. He would be a great grade school teacher.

Mark is an AMAZING person! He is so inspiring and does so much for his students and the environment! This class was very easy, although there is a lot of writing. Mark knows his stuff and is such a great person! TAKE CLASSES FROM HIM! HE'LL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

He is outstanding! Love him! Take as many classes of his as you can and your GPA will thank you! Also, at the end of the semester, he asks you to give yourself a grade. Give your self a good grade because that is the one you will get. Really!

mark is the best teacher i have ever had, not because of the no test thing but because he cares so much about what he does and the students in his class. He has been the cause of changing my major and inspiring me to work for something meaningful in life! take his class

Best teacher ever! Really. Really cares about everyone and has parties for his students. No tests and no pressure in class at all. Stress free!

Kind of annoying but definitely worth taking if you need the credit. I'd choose him over most teachers for the class.
