This class really is not as hard as it seems. Melki tries to act tough but hes willing to help as long as you have some idea of what you're doing. Make sure you pick group members that are going to be dedicated,you'll be working with them all semester on a project that's worth a lot of your grade. Don't wait til the last minute to study for tests!!
I was scared of taking MCOM490...but Prof Melki was great. Labs were clearly laid out well and pretty easy to follow. Lecture was good to, just take good notes and study well for your tests. Make sure to do your codings and ask him to clarify if you have any questions. It's not a bad class and I have a pretty good handle on SPSS now.
I took MCOM490 w/ Melki, my roommate w/ Baker. I liked Melki?s class, she liked Baker?s. We both thought the work was tedious and neither preferred the subject. The content for both classed is exactly the same but in Baker?s class you choose you research topic, in Melki?s class you choose your research question from a pre-defined topic. Good luck.
