CHEM162 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: B

I had him for lab. First, he's very long winded. Half of the lab is spent with him talking about the lab in great detail, covering the background topic in great detail. Be careful to follow his lab report format and show all your calculations, or you will receive either a handed back lab to redo, or a poor lab grade.

Zownir is terrible because he doesn't care to change. He uses transparency pages that are cryptic, old, and unhelpful. Often only reviewing something once, he is unhelpful during office hours. He has been unprofessionally rude to several students during class. His exams are significantly more difficult than other professors.

Chem 163 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Extremely hard. I've taken dozens of hard college classes but never like this didn't have time to finish the test. He talks so fast non stop telling stories that are supposed to relate you to the topic but end up confusing When asked if he will review for the next test he laughs and says that's up to you! why teach then? just say read the book

CHEM163 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Thought I'd give this guy a chance. He is not approachable. Uses very old school methods for teaching & does not really seem to care about his students absorbing the information he throws at them in the form of an 60 page packet. Exams are ludicrous, 9pg open ended and you're expected to finish in ~1 hr. Avoid at ALL COSTS. Had to drop the course.

CHEM163 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Lecture involves him teaching from an overhead projector; you follow along with a note packet, page by page. He's very clear with his examples. Makes a lot of puns/jokes. Nice guy. Exams have extra credit worked in. Do not skip lecture or you will fall behind, note packets are worthless without watching him work through them. Book is irrelevant.

Chem162 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Had him for lab, he's a very tough grader and inconsistent. He likes things done his way. He's not approachable, you dont want to ask him questions because he just makes you feel like an idiot for not already knowing the answers. If you take the lab w/o having lecture, you're doomed. Final is all lecture based, not lab related.

Chem163 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

This professor was a way better teacher than the ones I have had at UConn. He gives you a note packet for each chapter, and tells you straight forward do the work and your bound to pass. I've gone up to him with questions, and he has answered them on the spot. If you listen to his stories they definitely do relate to what he is talking about.

This professor is a hard one but you have to skim the lessons before class. Going to class is a must!! He is not too helpful with explaining but there are other profs in the chem department willing to help. He knows what he is talking about and his stories do relate to class(contrary to popular belief). PAY ATTENTION!! Do the homework in the book!
