Arts001
EXTREMELY nice and approachable. She cares about her students a lot. Christina knows exactly what she's doing and she'll break everything down until you understand as much as possible. However, she her marking is brutal and she leads you on with a smile on her face.
ARTS001
Very nice professor, extremely approachable and quite understanding, actually has a sense of humour... but she's not an easy marker. She tears apart your essay with a smile on her face. "Overall very good essay, I just had a few minor problems..." -- next day, you get a B+. I would definitely recommend her, but be prepared to actually read the text
PHIL102
I would hug her if it wasn't weird. I absolutely love her as a teacher! She is very energetic and friendly, very knowledgeable and encourages individual thought. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. She can be a hard checker sometimes, so don't be lulled into a false sense of security haha.TAKE THIS COURSE, SHE'S AWESOME :D
Arts01
She's am excellent prof. At the beginning of the year I felt she marked hard, but she really helped me improve my essay writing skills over the year. Also, even though I'm more interested in English than philosophy, she encouraged me to read new things and develop an interest in philosophy. Highly recommended.
ARTS1
Wonderful teacher. Clear, intelligent. Might not have the same pizazz as others, but that's not in the job description is it? I highly recommend her!
phil102
She's good at explaining concepts although she tend to over-explain. We were always behind in this course because we spent so much time going over the same things again and again. But the advantage is that you really understand everything. Good prof, really approachable
PHIL230
Very helpful and friendly, both in class and during office hours. She recognizes effort (through her lenient marking of the journal entries). She even brought us outside for a lecture because it was too hot in the classroom! That was really awesome.
ARTS1
Very approachable. She always knows what she's talking about and is great about accommodating students' health issues/etc.
ARTS001A
I had some medical issues throughout the year, and Christina was very supportive and accommodating, she is easy to approach and encourages you to talk to her out of class if you are having trouble understanding something. She was an average lecturer, not the best, was clear but didn't have that je ne sais quoi: ability to bring humor to the topic
WMST100
I entered the course (Women Studies 100) not knowing what to expect. By the time I left, I was a convinced feminist. That says a lot about how good a teacher she is. She's not at all preachy. As one of the few guys in the class, she sought out my opinion and those of the other guys. Very open-minded. One of the kindest teachers I had at UBC.
artsone
Very intelligent and helpful prof. Her Arts One Seminar tends to be very laidback. However, this can be bad if no one wants to talk.
phil 230
Approachable professor with clear expectations and a genuine desire to see students succeed. Presents material clearly. Open to dicussion. Can be annoying when students go off. Didn't like TA's marking. 2 short essays, 1 long, 6 mandatory in class journal style assignments. Good overall.
PHIL
not bad all round basicaly one of those that you never really think about again after you leave the class. The participation marks make it so you have to got to class from time to time but nothing to crazy. only problem is all the phil students who think theyre so smart talkin all the time--but thats not her fault.
Phil 230A
Nice teacher, very good at speaking and allows for discussion. Her lectures were interesting to those with interest in Philosophy, so I missed out a bit. Concentrates too much on the Greek philosophers, so that some of the modern ones are barely glanced at.
PHIL 230
Really nice prof. She marks fair (though her TA marks hard). It's not an easy course, but she gives opportunity for students to do well in her class.
PHIL 230A
Prof. Hendricks is one of the most helpful professors I know. She is very willing to discuss the assignments with you before hand and she also encourages you to go see her for help with the readings as well as just general information. You can tell that she genuinely cares about her students. Her Phil class is a MUST Take!
PHIL230
Christina is a very nice woman, also she's hot but her classes are unappealing in my opinion. I was not highly interested in her method of presentation. Mostly, she didn't communicate great depth of knowledge in the subject. As well, the marking system was highly inaccurate and bizzare (it may have changed since then).
