"Gives good feedback" "Skip class? You won't pass." "Papers? More like novels"

Really likes students to participate in lectures and values what they have to say. She is a tough grader of essays but easy grader on exams. Her classes require a lot of work and she expects you to be prepared all the time. She is a wonderful professor but expects a lot out of her students.

ENG 120 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: A

This is the first undergraduate course that I found the professor treated the students like graduate students. She expected everyone to keep up and participate. When I thought people didn't, she got pissed. But by the end of the semester all of the students created amazing presentations. They all appeared prepared. Which makes me give her an A

ENG05 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

She is not a good teacher. every time she speaks she points her nose up like shes above us as she continus to tell us about how she doesn't have an english degree. Also she somehow manages to use up all 2 hours of class while rambling on about completely off topic things. got screwed into having her because the class switched professors. DROP HER!!

ENG344 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Love, love, love her! She is extremely fair and so incredibly sweet. I don't think her lectures are boring at all if you pay attention, take notes, and actually engage in discussion with her. She is not difficult at all and is extremely willing to help. By far one of my favorite professors at RIC. She made me love medieval literature.

ENG207 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

I'm currently in this class and about to take the final in about 2 weeks and still waiting for the midterm and every paper written during the semester! Read the material VERY closely! Questions on the quizzes are very specific and somtimes focus on the smallest detail.

Professor McMunn is a fair grader, but you wouldnt know that considering she doesnt return papers or projects until the exam. She is extremely disorganized. She is also a bit condescending towards her students. Rambles off topic a lot, makes it hard to follow her lectures. I would not recommend her.

ENGL161 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

She is a nice lady, but I had a hard time in her class. If you are not 100% into medieval literature like she is, you might have a hard time with the concepts. She is often unclear with assignments. It's a hard class. If you love medieval literature you will do fine, but otherwise you may have trouble.

ENGL161 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

SHE'S SO BORING. She tells you the end of every story before you have finished it and she says the same things over and over but words them differently each time.I have learned nothing from this class and her choice of books are horrible considering I read all of them in my 11th grade english class. Take her only if you're trying to boost your GPA.

ENGL161 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

If you want the ending of stories told to you before you get to finish reading them yourselves, take her. She assigns a certain amount of pages to read and then tells you the entire story the next day KNOWING that we haven't finished it yet. Very boring but pretty easy. 4 essays (2 are 3-4 pages, 2 are 2-3 pages), 2 exams, and 5 easy quizzes.

A very intelligent and well-learned medievalist. She's very helpful and encourages one-on-one discussions for papers. She's tough but she will definitely make sure you do your work the RIGHT way. I highly recommend her especially if you intend to take 460 soon.

Prof. McMunn is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is wonderful. The material is actually interesting and I learned quite a bit. Her comments and critism is extremely helpful. She will tell you exactly what she expects and guide you to a good grade. You only need to do your part. Not a pushover but very very helpful.

Absolutely wonderful professor! She's incredibly nice and understanding. Like most other classes, watch out for the long ones (2+ hours) as they get very tedious. Not her fault so much as the material's. Only praise for her from me!

Ahh well I'm a transfer student and my Western Lit. Class didn't transfer with me, so I have to take it again. Due to my schedule I ended up with the 4 hour class. It's horrible after about 2 hours. It's not the Profs. fault though, I just can't sit still that long. She was even nice enough to bring us popcorn, candy and soda when we watched a movie in class. Reminded me of 6th grade, in a nice way. Dr. McMunn is a very knowledgeable person about many things and often shares her insight in class

McMunn loves old texts. They bring her to tears (ask her about the manuscript in France with the wax on it). She is very passionate about them, but that doesn't make it any less tedious.

She is nice, and the class would not be bad...but DO NOT TAKE the 4 hour class...what could have been enjoyable turn ugly by the second hour. She does seem dedicated and really into what she is talking about.

The Southern Belle of the English Department. She is passionate about her material and encourages you to be that way also. I can't wait to have another class with her!
