Koettel wants you to decipher your dreams and explore different archetypes. Its definitely not a memorize the book kind of class. There are three 2-3pg papers and one 5-7pg final paper. Very cool class if you can be open to his creative methods. Any professor that allows me to color is okay in my book!

This is an unorthodox class on Jungian psychology. I WANTED to learn about this topic. Unfortunately, this Professor is absolutely useless in teaching this topic. He cannot teach at all: disorganized, unclear, weak. One bright spot: his grading is OK; subjective, but reasonably fair. If you don't want to learn about Jung on your own: DO NOT TAKE

This class is a WASTE OF TIME!! All he does is talk about dreams he had the night before or some other complete nonsense. There is ZERO educational value to this class!! Save your time and money and take a different class because I guarantee you will not be attending this one.

I agree with the last few comments. Yes, the man loves Jung. So what? And yes, the class is different from any class I've ever taken at UNLV, no exams, only 4 journal responses 1-3 pages the first 3 and 5 pages for the final one. This class is not demanding, and the journals are very easy to write. On top of that, he's very fair in his grading

I think the comments previous to mine are unfair. You need to understand how this course is different from the norm. I am so glad I looked past the critics and realized how this course encompasses psychology on a different, exciting way.

I love this man! He is so sweet and very nice. His class can be easy or challenging. He believes it's up to you to learn, so he does not test you or assign a lot of work. You have to write 3 journals and a final paper. He talks about the subconsious mind and dreams a lot. Very cool class. Brilliant man!

If you want to learn about the science of adolescent development, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Jungian psychology (which should be philosophy) is the only thing taught. Easy class otherwise. No final, 3 journals, one take home essay. If you need an upper level psyc elective and want something easy, take this. Otherwise, it is a waste of time and money.

Dr. Koettel's class was not for me. It had nothing to do with development; all JUNGIAN PSYCHOLOGY. Do not expect anything else. JUST JUNG, JUNG, JUNG. The class felt like a waste of money. If you want to learn and spend money wisely, I advise not taking his class.

If jungian psychology is what you like then take this instructor. He DOES NOT teach anything scientifically related to development. I am completely dissatisfied with this instructor and his teaching style. I feel this semester with him was a complete waste of both time and money. An easy A. Just don't expect to learn anything related to Psy.

This professor changed my academic career. The very first night of class he said that he wished that this school had less students and more scholars. That being said, if you need a professor to hold your hand please, please do not take this class. Don't listen to the people who said negative things about him. His course WILL challenge you.

Despite the class title, this class is not about adolescent development. It is really focused on Jungian psychology. However, you can get a different perspective from his class. Also, the work is easy, just start your journals early.

BOB IS A COOL DUDE. HE IS A LITTLE ECCENTRIC. HE TEACHES JUNGIAN PSYCHOLOGY. VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. I THOUGHT THE CLASS WAS EXTEMELY EASY. ONLY 1 PAPER FOR YOUR WHOLE GRADE. I REC'D AN A-. I WOULD RECCOMMEND THIS CLASS FOR THOSE WITH AN OPEN MIND THAT ARE INTERESTED LEARNING ONE PERSON'S PHILOSOPHY OF PSYCHOLOGY.

This teacher is a follower of Jung. Nothing he says is based off of scientific evidence. Those who claim to have learned anything in this class, I have a feeling they could have learned just as much having a group talk about philosophy with a bunch of friends outside of school.

This professor is the possibly the worst I have had in my career here at UNLV. The class should be listed under philosophy and not psychology. If you want a decent grade in his class, make sure you take alot of drugs before entering his classroom, then you might actually be able to understand what the heck he is talking about...

This is a different experience, but if you accept it and go along with the flow, then maybe, just maybe... you will learn something! Imagine that! Not for the close-minded, immature, or judgmental.

this class sucked! i was way excited to take this class and actually learn something, however the class itself is a completely different story. all you do is sit in a circle and share your dreams, it was okay the first few classes, but after that it was pure hell! i hated this class! the dream journal assignments were not as easy as expected

Unconventional class, and not in a good way. Teaches only one way to view development, and instead of learning how it applies to everyone, one is supposed to learn to apply it to only him/herself through journals, etc. Also, he speaks very softly and put me to sleep, as it was an evening class. Almost felt like therapy.
