She is definitely not an easy teacher; however, she is extremely caring, and she knows what she is doing- even though it doesn't seem that way sometimes. She is an amazing woman. Yes, this is definitely a gatekeeper class, but she is only hard on you to make you do your best. It's a lot of work, but it feels amazing when you finish.

There is a lot of work to be done in this class, but Kan is just preparing you for the road ahead, because it won't get any easier from here. While at times she seems like she is out to get you, she really truly cares about her students and is trying to help you. This class weeds out the true teachers from the wannabes.

She will make you work, hard! Art ed classes get harder and harder the further you get in the program. An art ed degree is not achieved at kent state with out a lot of very hard work, and praticum is the first taste of it. She will help you, but what saved me in her class was the TA, she was awesome and she stepped in when Dr Kan was confusing.

She seems to hate her job. She was always demeaning students because they weren't good enough. Well, she never defined what was "good enough". Also, needs to be told the 80's are over!

For a woman who is trying to educate future teachers she has a few things to work out. She was insulting to our class on numerous occasions and seemed to bring everyone down. Being truly interested in the class, she sure made it a horrible experience and should not be teaching.

She is a great teacher, difficult from time to time but understandably so. As for those who wrote she was horrible, are you sure that you really what to be art educators?

Dr. Kan is an amazing professor. She makes you work for your grade and that is something that people are just too lazy to do these days. They expect to get a degree without having to work for it. Have a good work ethic and keep your priorities in line and you will do fine. Talk to her when confused.

This was by far the worst class I've taken at Kent. She will make you miserable.

I would rather shoot myself in the eye than take her again. Stay away at all costs
