Great class, especially if you love alpha motor neurons and T-Rex. Take home exams, which are easy if you attend class and utilize text.

ANS 314 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

The "textbook" is a 200 or so page Word document that is neither written nor edited well nor peer-reviewed. Lectures may be helpful if they weren't an aggressive reiteration of the lousy pseudo-text. It's unfortunate-the guy isn't an awful teacher, just an awful "textbook" author and his disillusionment with such affects students' learning.

Expected students to know material for exam that hadn't been covered yet, arguing that the text covers everything. Then why is the university paying your salary when we could just sit at home and read a poorly-constructed text? Grades are not reflective of mastery of the subject, as I received an "A" in this class despite having learned nothing.

ans314 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Took the online class. Mostly consisted of weekly readings and ungraded hmwk. Tests are take home, but extremely hard, no review sources. Professor would be out for the week at times and it would be during midterms, so impossible to ask questions and get an answer on time. Hard to link lecture to homework to tests. Lectures complicated to read.

Arrogant, resentful professor makes this material over-complicated. Other physiology courses are much better for actually learning. Online course midterms are not take-home and test questions are deliberately hard. Doesn't use a textbook because he thinks his way is better. It's not.

This guy is obsessed with T-Rex. It is obvious he hates teaching and is very bitter about snobby, uppity pre-vet students. You are better off taking the zoology version of physiology if you want to learn something. However, an easy A, no doubt about that.

ANS314 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I was disappointed with this class. Dr. Froman is really good at physiology, but he's not so great at teaching it in a way that's simple enough that everyone can learn it. His subject material is organized, but the individual lectures are NOT. Thank goodness his midterms are take home! This class was way more stressful than it needed to be!! :-(

Passionate & clearly knowledgeable about material. Unfortunately no structured lectures. Instead scattered thoughts drawn on the board, leaving students responsible connecting his random thoughts. Midterm answers were never given back, causing students to lack improvement. Spent more time worrying about past tests ?'s than actually learning =(

Dr. Froman wrote his own book, (which was very confusing to myself) and going to his lectures did not help because he went off topic often, yet still expected you to know the material. It would take him entire class periods to answer one question, therefore not allowing enough time for other basic questions to be answered.

Dr. Froman REALLY wants students to understand the material and if you put forth the effort, this course is not as bad as most people make it out to be. Dr. Froman is very passionate about the subject and does everything possible to help you out. What you do with the information is your choice. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the class!!

An awesome and eccentric teacher (obsessed with t-rex)! Really hard, but forgiving and you learn a lot. Do NOT fall asleep in his class ;)
